Book Text: Image of Spirit is een woninginterieurontwerp voor een huis van 920 vierkante meter in de westelijke buitenwijken van Chengdu. De binnenplaats wordt gebruikt om het dagelijks leven te organiseren en om de binnen- en buitenruimte in balans te brengen. Een waterpartij bij de entree-binnenplaats en de binnenverlichting verbinden de ceremoniële hal met de buitenwereld. Er is gebruik gemaakt van natuurlijke materialen, waaronder metalen platen, donker hout en brede, kale wanden, die de openbare ruimtes eenvoudig en rustig houden. Een familielift verbetert de verticale circulatie, en de dienstingang is gescheiden gehouden van de looproute van het gezin.

- Unieke Eigenschappen
- Traditionally, In the Oriental concept of building a house, the vestibule and the backyard are essential, and they are necessary for transforming different spaces, so as the L House in the western suburbs of Chengdu. Opening the door and coming through the corridor to the ceremonial hall, we notice that the indoor and outdoor are connected to some extend thanks to the waterscape at the entrance courtyard and the lighting indoors. A vivid indoor space comes into our sight as a result.

- A house should be comfortable for living and cultivating. With the development of one's aesthetic needs and spiritual consciousness, the house is no longer only a space for living, but assuming the function of cultivating residents' minds.
- Inspiratie
- The designer takes the "courtyard" as the inspiration to organize the order of daily life to make sure the owner's living environment achieve balance between internal and external space, and the rhythm of life can be adjusted, thus creating a new leisured and cozy pace of life.
- Projectduur
- The project started in August 2019 in Chengdu and finished in December 2021 in Chengdu.
- Werkproces
- A family elevator is added to improve commuting between the four stairs in terms of vertical movement lines. The stairs and the negative first floor entrance are near to the worker room, which can be successfully isolated from the master's moving line.
