Over Buddha Said Illustratiereeks

Boek Tekst: Buddha Said is een illustratiereeks gebaseerd op de fresco's van Dunhuang. Vijf klassieke verhalen uit de fresco's zijn geselecteerd en opnieuw getekend voor deze reeks. De personages van elk verhaal zijn verfijnd en gecombineerd met de scènes in een moderne grafische stijl. Kleuren ontleend aan de muurschilderingen van Dunhuang geven de beelden een grootse en mysterieuze sfeer. De illustraties zijn gemaakt met vectorontwerpsoftware en afgedrukt op 800 bij 800 millimeter in hoge resolutie. Het doel is om traditie te verbinden met modern design en deze verhalen uit de muurschilderingen bij een breder publiek bekend te maken.

Unieke Eigenschappen: Through reading and understanding a large number of relevant materials of Dunhuang frescoes, this paper combines traditional frescoes with modern illustration design, explores the integration of tradition and modernity, and thus creates illustration design works with modern design flavor and national characteristics.

Productietechnologie: The series of illustrations and expressions are drawn by the illustrator vector design software. It is produced by high level printing and manufacturing technologies to show the details of beautiful and exquisite illustrations.
Ontwerpuitdaging: The difficulty lies in accurately grasping the characteristics of Dunhuang frescoes, combining modern aesthetics with traditional frescoes, and combining computer technology with traditional crafts to shape modern aesthetic feeling.
Onderzoek: This design selects the five most classic stories in Dunhuang frescoes for illustration design. First, the characters in the story are refined and skillfully combined. Then, the colors matched with the charm of Dunhuang are used to highlight the magnificent and mysterious atmosphere of the whole illustration. Moreover, the innovation of this illustration design lies in the integration of Dunhuang frescoes into the illustration design, and the integration of Dunhuang elements in the picture also enhances the unity of the whole design.
Inspiratie: At present, Dunhuang Cultural Development Bureau is only limited to re-creating the image of Feixian, and the same classic Dunhuang mural stories have not been well developed and utilized. This design redesigns and creates Buddhist stories in Dunhuang frescoes, so that these classic frescoes are well known by more people, and the art of Dunhuang frescoes is pushed to the public and the world.

Werkproces: This design selects the five most classic stories in Dunhuang frescoes for illustration design. First of all, the understanding of Dunhuang frescoes is reconstructed. Secondly, the characters in the story are refined and combined with the story skillfully. Finally, computer coloring with Dunhuang flavor highlights the magnificent and mysterious atmosphere of illustration as a whole.
