Dwar Iko Siġġu Mdendel

Iko huwa siġġu mdendel iddisinjat bħala rifuġju kwiet fi ħdan uffiċċji miftuħa. Il-forma hija bbażata fuq l-ikosaedru, wieħed mill-ħames solidi Platoniċi, u din il-ġeometrija tagħti lid-disinn ismu. L-istruttura prinċipali tgħaqqad elementi tal-injam ma' ċilindri tal-metall maħdumin bis-CNC. Il-pannelli akustiċi trijangolari huma miksijin b'tessut ta' suf pur, u s-siġġu huwa mimli b'qxur tal-qamħ. Is-siġġu jiddendel minn ħbula tal-qanneb. Iko jista' jintuża biex taqra, tiffoka, tagħmel telefonata, taħdem jew tistrieħ, mingħajr ma tfixkel nies oħra fl-istess kamra.

Iko Siġġu Mdendel huwa rebbieħ tal-Premju A' Design Award tal-Fidda, rikonoxximent prestiġjuż straordinarjament mogħti lil disinji tal-ogħla livell, sbieħ u impressjonanti. Ir-rebbieħa tal-Fidda huma xogħlijiet brillanti ħafna u kreattivi ħafna li juru l-għarfien espert, it-talent u l-aċċuratezza tad-disinjaturi tagħhom. Huwa mistenni li Iko Siġġu Mdendel ikun xogħol mill-isbaħ, eżemplari, professjonali ħafna u innovattiv bil-fond. Proprjetajiet Uniċi: A levitating sphere, a focus capsule, a refuge for the senses. Not just a hanging chair, but a functional design object. A retreat in the middle of an open office.

The form was chosen in such a way that the object can integrate well into the most diverse environments. After analysing the basic geometric bodies, the icosahedron was quickly found as one of the five Platonic solids (regular polygons). Hence the name: iko.

In principle, the iko. is delivered by our assembly partners, assembled on site and professionally installed in relation to the ceiling.

Teknoloġija tal-Produzzjoni: The main structure consists of wooden elements that are machine-made and surface-treated by hand, as well as metal cylinders that are CNC-milled.
The triangular acoustic panels are pressed in a special process and covered with pure wool acoustic textile.
The upholstery parts are also covered with wool fabric, whereby the seat part is filled with grain husk, which guarantees a healthy and pleasant stay.
To carry through the sustainable choice of materials, the iko. hangs from hemp ropes.
Sfida tad-Disinn: The shape was found quickly, the interplay of cross struts and the connecting parts was solved in a technically ingenious way. A special manufacturing process was developed for the acoustic panels. But the greatest difficulty was to achieve a comfortable, pleasant, fitting interior (upholstery).
Riċerka: The iko. is the actual result of the previous research for such a product - as no relevant product could be found, we decided to create one ourselves.

However, the most interesting investigation has only just begun: During the launch phase, we try to find out where the product can best be positioned and which target audience will choose it. The results so far are promising.
Ispirazzjoni: As designers and product developers in the field of workplace wellbeing and wellness, we were looking for a unique chair for our own office. Every cool office should have hanging chairs and retreats for relaxing or talking on the phone. This is what we wanted too.

In our research we found nothing suitable. It was mostly a poor design, low quality workmanship or unfortunate choice of materials which were not worthy of our standards.
Tul tal-Proġett: The idea was born in May 2020 and the final prototype ready for small series production was finished in February 2022.

Fluss tal-Operazzjoni: The iko. can be used as a retreat to read, focus on something, make a phone call, work, take a power nap or simply chill - all in such a way that people in the same room are not disturbed and vice versa.

In addition, the iko. is a wonderful, safe and comfortable playground for children, especially when the back cushion is removed.
