Mō The Flight Of The Razorbill Kohinga Taputapu Whare mō Waho
Ko Te Rerenga o te Razorbill he kohinga taputapu whare mō waho, e whakaurua ana ki tētahi tūru, tētahi tēpu me tētahi taonga whakamarama. Kua hangaia te kohinga ki te Fenix, he rawa hangarau-nano me tōna mata tino kōhatu-kore, he mata aukati-tapa-matimati, me ōna āhuatanga whakaora-anō-i-a-ia-anō mā te wera.

- Hangarau Whakanao
- The collection was developed through a biomimetic design methodology, translating the aerodynamic geometry of the Razorbill into structural furniture forms. The pieces are fabricated using Fenix®, a high-performance nanotech material known for its ultra-matte surface, anti-fingerprint properties, and thermal self-healing capability. Digital modeling and precision CNC fabrication enabled the creation of continuous, refined geometries while ensuring durability and suitability for outdoor environments.
- Whakaaweawe
- This project originates from a biomimetic approach, studying the Razorbill seabird’s aerodynamic body and efficient structure as a source of design intelligence. Its flight inspired a language of light yet stable forms. The research also explored the innovative use of Fenix®, whose self-healing and regenerative surface properties echo natural resilience, reinforcing the concept of furniture that learns from nature’s efficiency and durability.
