Whakaaweawe: When people suffer minor skin trauma in the form of shallow cuts or abrasions, their first reaction is often to cover the wound with a Band-Aid to stop the bleeding. However, this simple treatment has a safety hazard, it allows bacteria on the surface of the wound to penetrate into the subcutaneous tissue and causes infection.
