Misplaced Geometry 리조트 소개

미스플레이스드 지오메트리(Misplaced Geometry)는 2018년에 완공된 대만의 리조트 건축물이다. 이 프로젝트는 높이와 너비, 깊이가 서로 다른 두 동의 3층 건물이 연결된 형태로, 대지의 경사를 따라 이어지는 중앙 램프가 두 건물을 이어준다. 두 건물 사이의 복도는 대각선 축을 따라 절개되어 있으며, 다섯 개의 사다리꼴 창을 품고 있다. 외관은 무채색 계열로 구성되었고, 벽면의 흰색 도장은 불규칙한 삼각형 형태로 서로 얽힌 나뭇가지를 형상화한다. 명도가 각기 다른 육각형 벽돌이 돌출된 파사드와 반외부 테라스를 감싸고 있다.

고유 특성: Unique staggered connection of two buildings to enjoy the beauty of the highest point: According to the advantages of the location, unlike the previous planning of buildings, the design team divided the project into two buildings with unequal heights, unequal widths, and different depths, A and B. The exterior is harmonized. The spray paintings on the northwest side of the exterior wall simulate the interlocking and disorderly growth of tree branches, creating an irregular triangular geometry. Different from the traditional method of painting the exterior wall, the painting is unrestrained.

Two buildings connected, three-story.
There are A and B buildings, and these three-story buildings are connected. The interior floors have a staggered foundation of unequal heights. Ramps connect in the center, and internal duplexes are connected by staircases. The garden lawn extends outward in curved walls around the front and sides of the building. Meanwhile, the corridors connecting the two buildings are cut on a diagonal axis with five trapezoidal windows in line with the height difference.

The exterior of the building is grayscale. The exterior walls and columns are clad in at least three shapes of brick. Hexagonal bricks of varying brightness form the overhanging facades and semi-outdoor terrace areas. The staggered facade of thin, rectangular white bricks is intentionally painted with cement coating to create a striped look.
디자인 과제: The cool weather and ecologically diverse environment of Yangmingshan are a fascinating place to visit. However, the humidity of the mountain and the sulfur in the hot springs are the most difficult challenges for the construction and future maintenance of the project. During the construction, most of the building materials had to be treated with sulfur resistance. Nevertheless, the forces of nature could not be defeated by proactive prevention. The client and the design team are only able to maximize the pre-planning while returning to the original intention of being in harmony with nature.
연구: Taking advantage of the site, the design team connected the two buildings on unequal foundations with a ramp. To create a harmonious look, the design team took an irregular arrangement of slanting shafts at the corridor, and a visualization of lines parallel to the slope. The building is painted in light gray, with white paint on the exterior walls intertwined to simulate tree branches. Some of the walls are covered with hexagonal tiles in different shades, echoing the shadows of the surrounding trees.
영감: The client is an entrepreneur who has always insisted on the quality of his work and living environment. His next life plan after retirement is to build a resort with iconic significance and characteristics. As an entrepreneur, he often can't focus on himself during the process of starting a business. Only when he is in nature, he can purify his mind. Therefore, the project is based on blending with nature, and the design team worked together to realize this vision. The house is built on the ground, brick by brick, embodying the same values as in the process of entrepreneurship.
프로젝트 기간: The project finished in July 2018 in Taiwan.
운영 흐름: When the mist haunts the forest, the warm yellow lights scattered on the ground guide the way for those who are lost. Nestled in the mountains close to the blue sky and green fields, the house is decorated with a forest figure to reveal the coziness of nature. At night, the resort seems to be rooted in this place. Branches and shadows spread upwards, while the house is still illuminated, accompanied by the sound of unbridled laughter.
