레이(The Ray)는 흐린 날 구름 사이로 비치는 한 줄기 햇살에서 영감을 받은 브로치이다. 블랙 로듐 도금 금속과 블랙 다이아몬드를 사용하여 브로치의 기본 색조는 어둡게 표현되었다. 어두운 바탕에 밝게 빛나는 보석들을 조합하여 작품 전체에 화사함을 더했다. 진주는 부드러운 광택을 자아내고, 다이아몬드는 어두운 금속 곁에서 반짝임을 더한다. 이 브로치는 3차원 디지털 모델로 개발되었다. 레이의 크기는 50 x 30 x 17밀리미터이다.

고유 특성: The base color of the brooch is dark since it's using black rhodium plated metal and a black diamond, but mixing with a bright gemstones brightens up the entire piece.

디자인 과제: The most challenging part of this piece was transforming the dark image into bright object, still containing the dark element.
연구: My research began first by observing the cloudy day and capture the moment of the ray that comes out from the cloud. After I understood the shape and movement of the light, I then researched how to incorporate and design a piece that is fine, and balanced. I researched everything using online resources.
영감: The inspiration of the brooch comes from the ray of sunlight appearing through the clouds on a cloudy day. The luster of the pearls gives and extra soft glow and the sparkle of the diamonds stands out like a ray of sunlight next to dark metal and black diamonds.
프로젝트 기간: The project was designed and completed in June 2022 in Milan, Italy
