From a young age, We was fascinated by the built environment and how it impacts individuals and communities. We pursued a formal education in architecture and gained experience through internships and entry-level positions in the industry. Our drive to be a designer comes from my desire to make a positive impact on the world through innovative and thoughtful design solutions.
When designing, our top priorities include functionality, sustainability, and human experience. We believe that architecture should not only be visually stunning but also practical and environmentally responsible. Our design style is characterized by clean lines, simple forms, and a focus on natural materials. We rely on the latest digital tools and technology to streamline the design process and ensure accuracy and precision. However, We also find value in making physical models and mock-ups to test and refine my ideas. When approaching a new project, We begin by researching the site and its context, analyzing the client's needs, and developing a design concept that responds to these factors.
When designing, We experience a range of emotions, from excitement and curiosity to frustration and anxiety. The most exciting phase of the design process, for me, is the initial ideation stage, where We brainstorm and explore different design possibilities. However, We also enjoy the journey of design, as each project presents new challenges and opportunities for learning and growth. What We like most when designing is the ability to create something tangible and impactful that has the potential to make a positive difference in people's lives. Designing fulfills us by allowing me to express my creativity, engage in problem-solving, and contribute to the built environment in a meaningful way. The pleasure we drive from designing comes from the satisfaction of seeing our ideas come to life and positively impacting the world.
Our background as architects and designers has taught us the importance of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and collaboration. As designers, it is essential to be able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other professionals involved in a project. We also believe that having a strong understanding of sustainability and environmental impact is crucial in creating responsible and innovative designs. Our biggest influence on our design work has been the natural world, and we draw inspiration from the way nature creates efficient and elegant solutions to complex problems. Our design journey has been characterized by a continuous pursuit of growth and learning, and we have always sought out new challenges and opportunities to expand our expertise.

Throughout the day, we work on designing projects, communicate with clients and contractors, and attend meetings and appointments. We enjoy taking breaks throughout the day to stretch and get some fresh air, and we find that listening to music or podcasts can help us stay focused and motivated.
As designers, we believe that it is important to stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies, but also to stay true to our personal design style and philosophy. We keep up with the latest trends by attending design conferences, reading design publications, and following industry leaders on social media. However, we also draw inspiration from nature, art, and other sources outside of the design world. Ultimately, we believe that it is important to create designs that are timeless and sustainable, rather than just following the latest trends.
As designers, we believe that good design should be functional, aesthetically pleasing, sustainable, and user-centered. When evaluating a product or project, we look at how well it meets these criteria and whether it fulfills the needs and expectations of the user or audience. We also pay attention to details such as usability, accessibility, and durability. One common mistake to avoid in making good design is prioritizing form over function or vice versa. A good design should strike a balance between both elements. For us, a design is good when it solves a problem, is sustainable, and enhances the user's experience.
We decide if our design is ready when it meets all the design criteria and fulfills the client's requirements. While there is always room for improvement, we aim to reach a point where the design is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meets the user's needs. We also take into account factors such as budget, timeline, and feasibility when deciding if a design is ready. We believe that a design can be complete, but there is always room for improvement and iteration. When our design is ready, we move on to other projects while keeping an open mind for future improvements. We consider a product or project successful when it meets the client's goals, receives positive feedback from users, and has a positive impact on the community.
Our biggest design work was a Kujdane project that we worked on for several month. We designed the housing units to be energy-efficient, accessible, and environmentally responsible. Our initial aspirations were to create a development that would improve the quality of life for residents while minimizing its impact on the environment. We designed the development by incorporating green spaces and community gathering areas to promote social interaction and a sense of community. This project is our biggest and best work because it had a positive impact on the community and the environment. It is special because it allowed us to use our design skills to address a pressing social and environmental issue. The project presented challenges such as balancing the client's budget with the desire for sustainability, but it was ultimately rewarding. We are currently working on a project that involves designing a community center for a disadvantaged community, and we are excited about the potential impact it could have.
Our favorite designer is the late Zaha Hadid. We find her work inspiring because of its futuristic and organic forms. She was able to push the boundaries of design and create iconic buildings that are both functional and visually stunning. If we were given a chance to talk with a dead designer, it would be Frank Lloyd Wright. He was a pioneer in modern architecture and was able to create timeless designs that are still relevant today. We believe that the most iconic designer of all time is Charles and Ray Eames because of their innovative approach to design and their contributions to multiple fields.
As designers, we are inspired by nature and the built environment. We enjoy visiting cities such as Milan, Paris and Tokyo, which are known for their innovative and sustainable design. Music is an essential part of our creative process, as it helps us stay focused and motivated. We believe that our culture influences our design projects by shaping our perspectives and priorities. We are currently working on a project that involves designing a community center for a disadvantaged community, which we believe is an opportunity to make a positive impact on society. We believe that good design is necessary for the advancement of society because it has the power to improve people's lives and create sustainable solutions to global challenges. We have introduced changes to our lives through design by incorporating sustainable practices such as using reusable containers and reducing our carbon footprint.
Our work culture is collaborative, communicative, and inclusive. We work with partners and a team of designers and architects to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of design and functionality. When selecting business partners or team members, we look for individuals who share our values and vision and who have strong communication and collaboration skills. We believe that the core challenges of our profession include balancing creativity with functionality, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to changing client needs. As designers, we are responsible for creating designs that are user-centered, sustainable, and visually stunning. We believe that a good designer should have creativity, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning and growth.

Grand Interview
22 October 2025 · Kujdane La Casa Per Le Vacanze
The "hovering" effect of Kujdane Holiday House is the result of a deliberate structural and visual strategy. Instead of a conventional foundation that fully connects the building to the ground, we designed a system of elevated platforms supported by concealed steel beams. These beams are strategically recessed to remain invisible from most perspectives, creating the illusion that the house is floating above the landscape. To maintain structural integrity, we utilized a lightweight yet robust steel framework combined with cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels. The steel beams distribute the load efficiently, ensuring stability even in the humid and seismic-prone environment of Gilan. Additionally, the design reduces the footprint on the natural terrain, allowing the house to integrate harmoniously with its surroundings while minimizing environmental impact. This floating effect is not merely aesthetic; it also enhances the connection between the house and nature. By elevating the structure, we reduced direct contact with moisture from the ground, improving durability while providing residents with an uninterrupted visual experience of the lush landscape beneath.
The inspiration behind the centralized glass core came from the idea of creating an uninterrupted vertical connection between the earth and the sky, reinforcing the experience of being immersed in nature. Rather than designing a fully enclosed cabin, we wanted to introduce a transparent element that would allow natural light to penetrate deep into the house while visually extending the space beyond its physical boundaries. This feature functions as both an architectural and experiential element. In different seasons, the glass core transforms the perception of the interior: in spring and summer, it floods the space with light, creating an airy and open atmosphere, while in autumn and winter, it frames the changing sky and falling rain, offering a dynamic visual experience.Additionally, the core plays a functional role in natural ventilation. Acting as a chimney effect, it facilitates passive cooling by allowing warm air to escape upwards, reducing the need for artificial climate control. This sustainable approach not only enhances comfort but also aligns with the house’s minimal environmental footprint.By integrating this vertical glass structure, Kujdane Holiday House becomes more than just a shelter—it becomes a dynamic observatory, allowing its inhabitants to experience the elements in a way that is rarely felt in conventional homes.
The design process of Kujdane Holiday House was driven by the challenge of merging tradition with contemporary aesthetics while maintaining a seamless, unified composition. We approached this by identifying key elements from both styles and strategically integrating them to enhance rather than contradict each other. The traditional A-frame silhouette, a familiar cabin archetype, provided a strong starting point. This form is deeply rooted in vernacular architecture, offering both structural efficiency and a nostalgic sense of warmth. However, to modernize this typology, we refined its geometry, introduced expansive glazing, and incorporated clean, minimalist detailing.Material selection played a crucial role in this balance. The use of natural wood honors traditional craftsmanship, while its precise, refined application reflects modern sensibilities. The juxtaposition of warm timber with sleek glass and steel elements creates a dialogue between past and present, preserving the essence of a classic cabin while introducing contemporary openness and fluidity.Furthermore, the spatial organization follows a modern logic. Instead of compartmentalized rooms, we opted for an open-plan layout, enhancing connectivity between indoor and outdoor spaces. The centralized glass core acts as a unifying element, reinforcing the contrast between the organic warmth of wood and the crisp transparency of glass.Ultimately, Kujdane Holiday House is a reinterpretation of traditional cabin living, where nostalgia and innovation coexist harmoniously. It is a space that feels both timeless and forward-thinking, offering a familiar yet refreshed experience of retreating into nature.
Wood was not just a material choice in Kujdane Holiday House—it was a fundamental element shaping the entire spatial experience. Our goal was to create an environment that feels warm and inviting while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic. Achieving this required careful selection of wood species, finishes, and detailing. We primarily used locally sourced hardwood, chosen for its durability and natural resistance to Gilan’s humid climate. The exterior features a thermally treated wood cladding, which not only enhances longevity but also develops a rich patina over time, allowing the house to age gracefully within its environment. Inside, we opted for light-toned wood with a smooth finish to reflect natural light and create an airy yet cozy ambiance. To balance tradition with modernity, we focused on precise detailing and clean lines. Rather than using overly rustic textures, we incorporated sleek, continuous wood paneling and custom joinery that emphasize craftsmanship. This subtle refinement prevents the interior from feeling overly traditional while preserving the organic warmth of natural materials.Additionally, the contrast between wood and other materials—such as glass and steel—adds depth to the design. The warmth of timber softens the sharp geometry of modern elements, creating a dynamic interplay between textures. By layering different tones and grains, we achieved a space that is both contemporary and deeply connected to nature, making Kujdane Holiday House feel like a true sanctuary.
The most significant challenges in designing Kujdane Holiday House stemmed from our desire to innovate while respecting the essence of traditional cabin architecture. Holiday homes, by their very nature, need to be welcoming and functional, yet the challenge lies in elevating this archetype into something more dynamic, sustainable, and responsive to its natural context. One of the main hurdles was balancing the need for a comfortable, intimate retreat with the desire for an expansive, open living space. Traditional cabins tend to be more compartmentalized, creating a sense of privacy but often restricting spatial flow. We sought to break down these walls by creating an open-plan interior that fosters connectivity and an unhindered relationship with nature, yet without losing the cozy, enclosed feel of a cabin.Another challenge was integrating modern, sustainable elements into the design without disrupting the cabin's traditional character. We introduced innovative features like passive ventilation through the glass core, solar panels, and high-performance insulation—designing them in a way that didn’t interfere with the cabin’s rustic charm. Achieving this required not only technical innovation but also a careful aesthetic balance to maintain a cohesive visual language.Lastly, working with the specific climate of Gilan added a layer of complexity. The region’s humidity and rainfall required us to choose materials and construction methods that were resilient, while the ever-changing weather demanded designs that could adapt to varying environmental conditions. We were committed to making the design not only beautiful but also durable and sustainable, ensuring it could withstand the test of time while offering year-round comfort.Through these challenges, Kujdane Holiday House emerged as a design that reinterprets the classic cabin with a modern approach, setting new standards for holiday home architecture in both functionality and aesthetics.
The full-height glazing creates a seamless connection between the interior and the landscape, enhancing the sense of openness. It brings in abundant natural light, which brightens the space and minimizes the need for artificial lighting. The curvature of the profile helps with passive ventilation, making the space more energy-efficient while maintaining comfort throughout the year. This feature adds both aesthetic appeal and functional value, blending beauty with practicality.
The local climate of Gilan, with its high humidity and frequent rainfall, strongly influenced our material choices. We selected durable, moisture-resistant woods for the exterior to ensure longevity. The thermally treated cladding protects the house from the elements while developing a unique patina over time. Inside, we used lighter woods to contrast with the darker exterior, creating a balanced aesthetic. These material decisions not only ensure the house’s resilience but also create a harmonious connection with the surrounding natural environment.
The balance between warm wooden elements and cool-toned details in the interior was achieved through careful selection of materials. We used rich, warm woods for furniture and paneling, while introducing cooler tones through modern finishes like metal accents and neutral textiles. This contrast creates a sense of warmth without feeling overwhelming, offering a calm, inviting atmosphere. The interplay of these elements allows the space to feel both cozy and contemporary, reflecting the natural beauty of its surroundings.
Working together as brothers brought a unique dynamic to the design process. We were able to combine our individual strengths—one focusing on the structural aspects, while the other concentrated on the aesthetic and experiential elements. This synergy allowed us to approach the project from multiple perspectives, ensuring a well-rounded and cohesive design. Our shared vision and collaborative spirit helped us push boundaries and create a space that feels both innovative and deeply personal.
Kujdane Holiday House represents a new direction in holiday home architecture, blending traditional design with modern innovations. We believe this project will inspire future holiday homes in Iran and beyond, particularly in how they integrate with their natural surroundings while offering sustainable, year-round living. The use of local materials, sustainable building techniques, and the focus on creating a connection between the interior and the landscape will set new standards for future designs in this field.
Grand Interview
23 November 2024 · Mijan La Casa Per Le Vacanze
The fusion of traditional sloping roofs with modern architectural elements in Mijan Holiday House emerged from our shared desire to create a dialogue between past and present. Our creative process began with an exploration of local architectural heritage, where sloping roofs hold both functional and cultural significance. By integrating these traditional forms with contemporary materials and techniques, we aimed to design a space that respects its roots while embracing innovation. This harmonious blend was refined through collaborative sketches and models, allowing us to visualize how these elements could coexist in a cohesive design. The result is a structure that feels both familiar and forward-thinking, inviting guests to experience the best of both worlds.
Our decision to make the wooden sloping roof a central feature of Mijan Holiday House was inspired by the need to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that resonates with the natural surroundings. We wanted the roof not only to serve as a protective element but also as a statement of comfort and elegance. The choice of wood was significant; it evokes feelings of coziness and connects the home to the lush landscape that envelops it. By emphasizing the roof's slope, we aimed to draw the eye upward, enhancing the home’s presence against the skyline while ensuring that the interior remains intimate and relaxing.
The rainy environment of the region played a crucial role in our material choices and structural decisions for Mijan Holiday House. We selected a steel structure for its durability and resistance to corrosion, ensuring that the home withstands local weather conditions over time. Additionally, the standing seam roof was implemented for its effectiveness in shedding water, minimizing the risk of leaks and damage. This choice enhances the building's longevity while complementing the aesthetic of the sloping roof, maintaining a sleek and modern silhouette.
Balancing the fluid corner shapes and warm interior elements with the bold exterior of Mijan Holiday House required a thoughtful approach in our design collaboration. We aimed to create a visual and experiential contrast that invites exploration. The exterior’s strong lines and angles establish a powerful presence, while the interior elements, such as rounded corners and soft textures, offer a sense of comfort and tranquility. This duality was achieved through careful material selection and spatial planning, allowing each area to evoke different feelings and experiences while maintaining a cohesive overall aesthetic.
Combining solid forms with sloping roofs while adhering to strict height limitations was a significant challenge we faced during the development of Mijan Holiday House. We approached this by employing creative design strategies, such as using cantilevered elements that extend the usable space without increasing the overall height. This innovative technique allows for a dynamic interplay between solid and sloping forms, creating a visually engaging structure that feels larger than it is. Additionally, we focused on optimizing the interior layout to ensure spaciousness, even within the constraints imposed by local regulations.
The design of large picture windows in Mijan Holiday House was guided by our desire to enhance the relationship between the interior and exterior spaces. By aligning the windows with the sloping roof, we aimed to create a sense of continuity and fluidity that encourages natural light to flow into the home. This transparency not only frames the beautiful views outside but also brings the surrounding landscape into the living spaces, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. The strategic placement of these windows fosters an immersive experience, allowing residents to feel connected to nature at all times.
The second conventional area in Mijan Holiday House was designed to elevate the viewer's perspective, offering a unique vantage point to appreciate the surrounding landscape. We aimed to create a spatial experience that invites visitors to engage with their environment differently. By incorporating elevated platforms and strategically placed seating, this area provides an opportunity for reflection and enjoyment of the scenic views. Our design encourages interaction with nature, fostering a deeper connection to the site and enhancing the overall experience of the home.
Mijan Holiday House reflects the evolution of our studio's design philosophy by embodying a harmonious blend of modern innovation and local traditions. This project represents a pivotal moment in our work, where we sought to integrate contemporary architectural practices with cultural context. The design emphasizes sustainability and respect for the environment while pushing the boundaries of traditional forms. This balance is crucial as it honors local heritage while setting a precedent for future designs that aspire to be both innovative and culturally resonant.
The seamless integration of Mijan Holiday House with its surroundings was achieved through a deliberate design strategy that extends the sloping roof to the ground. By creating this connection, we aimed to establish a visual and physical relationship between the structure and its landscape. This approach not only enhances the futuristic form of the building but also reinforces its role within the environment, creating a sense of belonging. The extended roof acts as a protective canopy, inviting nature to become an integral part of the home's experience while providing shade and shelter.
As Silver A' Design Award recipients, we envision Mijan Holiday House influencing future architectural approaches to holiday homes by highlighting the importance of climate-responsive design. This project showcases how thoughtful integration of local materials and sustainable practices can create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional in challenging environments. By demonstrating innovative solutions, such as the sloping roof and durable materials, we hope to inspire architects to prioritize environmental considerations in their work. Ultimately, Mijan Holiday House stands as a testament to the potential for holiday homes to harmonize with their surroundings while enhancing the overall experience for occupants.

The decision to extend the sloping roof of Lako Holiday House to the ground evolved organically throughout our creative process. Initially, we aimed to create a structure that felt connected to the landscape, so we explored various roof designs that would enhance that connection. As we sketched and modeled our ideas, we realized that a gradual extension of the roof could visually and physically integrate the house with its surroundings. This approach not only provided shelter but also created a continuous flow between the built environment and nature, resulting in a striking harmony that invites the landscape into the living space while maintaining a bold architectural statement.
The contrast between the solid exterior and fluid interior spaces of Lako Holiday House was inspired by our desire to create a dynamic living experience. We envisioned the exterior as a protective shell that offers a sense of security, while the interior is designed to evoke a sense of openness and tranquility. This deliberate juxtaposition enhances the overall living experience by allowing occupants to feel both grounded and liberated. The solid forms provide stability and strength, while the fluid spaces foster creativity and relaxation, encouraging a seamless transition between the two states of being.
Our philosophical approach to manipulating eye levels in Lako Holiday House centers on enhancing spatial perception and creating unique viewing experiences. We designed low-level conventional areas intentionally to draw occupants closer to the ground, fostering a sense of intimacy with the surrounding environment. By varying the height of spaces, we encourage occupants to engage with their surroundings from different perspectives, promoting a deeper connection to nature. This architectural strategy not only influences how spaces are perceived but also enriches the overall experience by inviting exploration and contemplation.
Our commitment to blending modern design with natural surroundings played a pivotal role in the creation of Lako Holiday House as an innovative retreat. By prioritizing the use of local materials and sustainable practices, we sought to push the boundaries of contemporary architecture while remaining respectful of the environment. This approach allowed us to create a space that feels both timeless and cutting-edge, where the design complements the landscape rather than competes with it. Winning the Silver A' Design Award reinforces our belief that architecture can be both modern and harmonious with nature, inspiring future projects to embrace this philosophy.
The warm colors and unique floor materials in Lako Holiday House were carefully selected to create an engaging contrast with its futuristic exterior. During our material selection process, we aimed to evoke feelings of warmth and comfort that resonate with the natural environment. By incorporating organic textures and colors, we foster an emotional connection between the occupants and the space. These choices support the envisioned emotional experience of the house, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites relaxation and reflection, while beautifully complementing the sleek, modern lines of the exterior.
Achieving a delicate equilibrium between a safe, powerful presence and elegant simplicity in Lako Holiday House required thoughtful design decisions. We focused on clean lines and minimalistic forms that convey strength without overwhelming the senses. By using a restrained palette and carefully considering proportions, we ensured that the design remains elegant and understated while making a bold statement. This balance allows the architecture to feel both secure and inviting, creating a harmonious environment that promotes comfort and relaxation.
Our vision for Lako Holiday House as an elegant retreat for activities like reading and enjoying endless coffee is indeed deeply personal. This specific use case influenced our architectural and interior design decisions by guiding us to create spaces that foster comfort and introspection. We designed cozy nooks and spacious areas that encourage leisurely activities, ensuring that each space is adaptable to different moods and needs. This focus on creating a sanctuary for relaxation and creativity shaped the overall layout and aesthetic, resulting in a home that feels both inviting and inspiring.
The fluid shapes within Lako Holiday House intentionally create an intriguing dialogue with its geometric exterior, reflecting our studio's philosophy of blending old-fashioned and modern elements. We believe that architecture should tell a story, and this contrast embodies that narrative. The fluid forms represent organic influences and human experiences, while the geometric exterior symbolizes stability and contemporary design. This intentional mix highlights our commitment to creating spaces that honor tradition while embracing innovation, allowing occupants to experience both comfort and modernity in their environment.
Looking toward the future impact of Lako Holiday House's design language, we envision this project influencing the evolution of holiday home architecture, particularly in natural settings. By demonstrating how modern design can harmonize with the environment, we hope to inspire architects to prioritize sustainability and local context in their work. The integration of natural materials and innovative design solutions can set a precedent for future holiday homes, encouraging a new generation of architects to create spaces that enhance the beauty of their surroundings while providing comfort and functionality.
The integration of Lako Holiday House with its environment was both seamless and bold, but it came with specific challenges. Balancing architectural innovation with environmental harmony required careful planning and execution. We encountered obstacles such as site topography and local climate considerations that influenced our design strategies. By collaborating closely with landscape architects and engineers, we found solutions that allowed us to push creative boundaries while respecting the natural landscape. This process shaped the final design, resulting in a home that feels like a natural extension of its surroundings, embodying our vision of innovative yet responsible architecture.
