Designer profileDesigner of the Day Interview
20 May 2019
I have been engaged in design relatively recently, over a year. After graduation from university I had internships in design at Strelka and Cotton Club. Now I work as a web designer in Svyaznoy and create banners and promo sites.
As a child I always enjoyed creating something new and I made websites as a hobby. However, I bacame designer reletevely recently. While studying in master degree in applied mathematics and computer science in HSE one of the subjects was UI UX, which I really enjoyed. So after that I decided to learn more about design and in parallel with my studies I completed additional education in HSE in graphic design. Also, I listened several online design courses.
My design process starts from structuring all the given information, then sketching different variations and selecting the best one. And after that making it visually attractive. As for the style, I enjoy minimalism and interesting creative ideas.
I always feel inspired when I have new project, especially the process of thinking how can I better implement the idea into design. And looking at finished project always makes me feel happy and excited.
One of the non-design skills that helped me to become a better designer are the ability to structure information and extract from it main things.
I enjoy making promo sites and landing pages overall, because it's like telling a short story, but in a visual way. In the future I want to make interactive websites with animation.
Just enjoy design overall and be passionate about it.
I suggest constantly reading and learning new things about design, studying trends and design news.
In the morning I usually read design news or look at Behance projects. Then when I go to work, frst of all, I look at my tasks for the day and plan what should I do first and what next. At dinner time we usuallly go to play basketball with collegues at the street.
I enjoy reading and learning about design trends from different resources. I think that design trend are good, but you shouldn't always use them, only in projects, where they are suitable.
Good design has an unusual idea, satisfies the customer and is suitable for target audience. Also, when you look at this design you understand that everything fits together perfectly.
I decide that design is ready, when I'm happy with the final result and don't think that anything in it should be changed.
My biggesst design work is promo site for Sony, extrabase on svyaznoy.ru website.
It's hard to pick only one designer, I enjoy different designers works.
Usually I get inspired from nature and also I like to make design while listening to the music.
There are lots of positive experiences that A'Design Award gives you! For example, certificate for the design, exhibition with the work and also opportunity to become a member at differnet design clubs and initiatives and so much more. I really happy that I was selected as Designer of the Day!
Design Interview
1 July 2024 · Plant Planner L'app Mobile
The design for the app was inspired by nature and plants, so the color palette consists of different tones of green. There are many photos of plants in the app, and elements in the interface have rounded corners to convey a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
The main focus of the app is to provide an easy experience for people who want to care for their plants. It offers guidance on how and when to plant specific plants, optimal growing conditions, and includes reminders for watering plants.
The design of the concept took one month.
The design was inspired by an appreciation for nature and a desire to create an app that helps people care for their plants more effectively.
I enjoy spending time in nature and caring for plants. My goal was to create an app that consolidates information about planting and plant care in one place. I was inspired to create easy-to-use app, especially for those who are less familiar with plants. Whether users are beginners or more experienced, this app can help them improve their plant care skills.
The app is designed for young people who are eager to learn how to grow plants.
I came up with the name "Plant Planner" for this design to reflect its purpose: the app helps users with planning the best times for planting and reminding them when to water their plants. The name signifies that the app serves as a tool for organizing and managing plant care schedules effectively.
The design was made in Adobe XD.

Grand Interview
8 January 2025 · Laround Sito Web
I created a map illustration based on the downtown area of Los Angeles. The map has a minimalist aesthetic, showing the general layout of the city. The lines and circles on the website symbolize movement and evoke a sense of travel and exploration.
Since the target audience for this website was young adults, I chose to use bold, trendy typography combined with map illustration to capture their attention and create a modern, engaging experience.
I aimed to create a fun and interactive experience for users by incorporating hover effects on images. When users hover over initially monochrome photos, they transition into vibrant colors, encouraging interaction and adding an element of surprise and engagement to the user journey.
The illustration of the map was slightly adjusted and proportionally resized to ensure a responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
I achieved the balance by focusing on user-centric design, leveraging white space to enhance readability and reduce clutter, using bold typography to establish a clear visual hierarchy, and incorporating high-quality images to create visual interest.
I used Adobe Illustrator to create an illustration of the Downtown LA map, abstracting the real map into a minimalist design that highlights the city's key features.
This recognition has reinforced the importance of innovation and user-centric design in creating digital experiences for tourism. It has encouraged me to continue exploring unique visual languages and interactive elements that enhance user engagement and make travel interfaces more intuitive and memorable. The award has also inspired me to push creative boundaries and focus on designs that not only meet user needs but also evoke a sense of exploration and discovery.
The decision to streamline the booking process was guided by user research that highlighted the importance of simplicity and speed in the decision-making process for travelers. Users expressed frustration with complex, multi-step bookings, so I focused on minimizing steps, simplifying forms, and reducing distractions to create a more efficient flow. Additionally, insights from usability testing showed that users preferred clear calls to action and an intuitive interface, which influenced the design choices to make the booking process straightforward and fast.
The full-screen gallery views and videos were strategically placed to highlight key moments of the tours without adding clutter. I used clean, simple controls and incorporated ample white space around the media to maintain focus on the content.
Looking back at the evolution of Laround Website, one key learning would be to further prioritize personalization and user context. Today, I would focus more on incorporating AI-driven recommendations based on user preferences or past behavior to enhance the travel planning experience.
