My career started in 2015 since I graduated in Industrial Design with Master Degree. At the beginning I just designed physical product. With increasing development of IoT technology, it brought me a challenge to design digital applications applied to physical product, like app and web design.
When I was kid, I like to draw on blank paper. No matter it was a word or random drawing, I might take it as a good way to express my thought. Later, I found the technical drawing of architecture / product is pretty with logic and art. So that I want to be a designer to create something innovative and meaningful.
During the design process, firstly consider "Who do you design for", secondly observe the whole using routine, third is prototype is really important to verify the design. I usually use professional software for rendering and initial mock-up.
feeling excited, be happy, and live a full life.
I think I'm kind of good at communication. It benefits me to be related to normal people, and discover users' true demands via design. Also good communication skill helps me to discuss with clients clearly. Moreover, I can present my design and its story behind well to public.
In my student age, innovation was most important thing to me. Later, When I studied in Master degree and work for while, I found critical and practical thinking became more important. I want to win more award in the future for public approbation. And I want to apply for a job overseas. Recently, I want to try jewellery design.

Some design foundation will announce latest trends every year or season. Subscribe them will on track with the design trends. I like to design based on the latest design trends because it makes sense and reasonable. But I also change a bit with my own thinking and prediction, hence it could be more convincing with my personal style.
Is the design understandable? Can it evoke people's feeling? I will define a design with these two questions. Besides the basic principle, easy to use and in general, I also believe good design can evoke people's feeling or memory so that it can tell users the story behind itself.
Is the design understandable? Is it useful? Is it long-last? Can it evoke people's feeling? I use the same questions to define my design is ready or not. Also keep questioning after a break, go back to look at the design and ask again. Sometimes you can find something new for next version or update.
Every single project is biggest to me. Sometimes a design project takes 1 year or more to finalize, even ongoing project that improve all the time with marketing demands.
Recently, I like design by Tom Dixon. I think there are really good consumer product with well using of bronze and match the marketing. I also like Zaha Hadid. She was one of successful women and designers. Her distinctive design style, streamline, always inspired me.

I always take the Ten Principles for Good Design within my design. In this project, our standard is that Is the interface clear enough? Is the interaction making sense? How many steps when users get their needs?
We focus on the user experience in particular to various user groups. So our consideration and test of the design result is pretend to be a fresh user as using it at first time. If the interface and interaction is clear and easy enough for fresh users, it is successful.
Tell our clients and public.
We took around 1 month from concept to initial version.
The rapid growth of the aging population worldwide, which increased dramatically to 703 million in 2019, points to the challenges of long-term care and aging in place. Meanwhile, the global pandemic has shed a light on many gaps, such as remote health monitoring and telehealth service. So, we bring this solution to tackle this difficulty, with smarter system design, by providing prompt and proactive service of in-depth knowing for patients.
It is a SaaS platform - Software as a Service. So we sell this software to another companies and organizations with our service and support.
Good design can evoke people's feeling, so that I use more color within it to try to represent the respiration and make people refreshen when looking at this interface.
Not really because it is business.
Our target customer is more than one, such as health care centers, medical institutes, property managements, and governments or health organizations and so on.
I want to make this work distinguish from general health system interface by colorful background represented respiration. Also empower it with auto data analyze, as opposed to serving as notification tool.
The name of hearts is merging the letters HE from health and ARTS from AI based Radio and Thermal Sensing. It means our goal and capacity together.
Sketch and Photoshop.
This design is combined art and technology integrated with AIoT devices. It does not only consider the interface and interaction by designing the user process, but also has some automatic functionalities, which collaborate seamlessly.
I work with developers and algorithm engineer for design achievement.
Technology ensures the platform works seamlessly with the AIoT devices and juggling the health data across cloud. Also, advanced algorithm learns from user's threshold and record the data automatically with camera-free.
Yes, we received different insights by observation and interviews with caregivers, doctors and medical staffs in care centers in order to fulfill their particular needs. Next is ranking the highest priorities requirements. Not only built the workflow of this portal, and we also made user journey with mood curve to find out the major problems and improve user-friendly.
The challenge for this portal is about to balance the complexity of data and collected by smart devices. We need to consider that it does not only remain the intuitive interaction to caregivers, but also encourage medical staff to do health evaluation proactively with deeper functional like data comparison and trend analysis. So it is an important part to think providing the learning-free user experience with simplified, systematic and visualized to each user group.
We have strong confidence about our design and capacity. And We want to get the public approbation. It is good for our company reputation and commercial.

1. Our partnership with care centers was instrumental in developing the real-time monitoring and emergency alert features of the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform. Through detailed interviews and on-site observations, we gained deep insights into the challenges faced by caregivers and healthcare professionals. We identified a pressing need for continuous health data to enable proactive care, which led to the development of wearable IoT devices capable of providing real-time updates on key metrics such as heart rate and oxygen levels. To address delays in emergency responses, we integrated an AI-driven alert system that instantly notifies caregivers, medical teams, and emergency services when anomalies are detected. Additionally, we incorporated customizable threshold settings, enabling care teams to tailor the platform to specific patient needs, whether for chronic disease management or post-operative recovery. By continuously monitoring health data, the platform generates patterns and predictive evaluations, allowing for early detection of potential abnormalities. This adds a layer of foresight to health management. This collaborative approach ensures the platform is both innovative and highly effective, improving care efficiency and patient outcomes.
2. The blue-green gradient interface of the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform was inspired by the fundamental connection between color psychology and healthcare functionality. During our design process, we explored how colors influence emotions and physiological responses. Blue and green are universally associated with calmness, stability, and health, making them ideal for creating a reassuring experience for users. The gradient itself represents the rhythmic flow of respiratory motion, a visual metaphor drawn from observing patients' breathing patterns during our research in care centers. This design choice subtly mirrors the continuous, life-sustaining process of respiration, aligning with the platform’s core focus on real-time health monitoring. Additionally, the soft, flowing gradient helps to reduce stress and anxiety for users, creating a calm environment for managing their health. This thoughtful connection bridges visual aesthetics with functional intent, ensuring the interface fosters both trust and a sense of well-being.
In designing the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform, we balanced comprehensive health data with an intuitive interface for caregivers of varying technical abilities. We focused on more user-friendly data processing and emphasizing critical information, ensuring that the platform’s most important data is immediately visible. We simplified navigation with clear icons and straightforward paths, reducing complexity. Data visualization tools, like color-coded indicators and large fonts, made complex information easier to understand. Customizable alerts tailored to individual patient needs helped reduce information overload. User testing with diverse caregivers guided refinements to improve usability. In-app tutorials and support offered step-by-step guidance, ensuring the platform delivers in-depth care while being simple to use for all caregivers.
4. The heatmap feature in the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform offers a unique way to visualize patient activity patterns. This feature was developed based on our deep understanding of the needs of caregiving teams, particularly in interpreting large sets of data and tracking subtle changes in patient activity. In fact, the heatmap is a summary of the observed activity range and patterns of the monitored individuals.1. Identifying the Need: Through discussions with care teams, we found that visualizing activity trends in a way that’s easy to comprehend is crucial for proactive care. Caregivers needed a tool to quickly identify periods of low activity or irregular patterns, which could signal potential health issues or the need for intervention.2. Design Process: To address this, we chose the heatmap format as it could represent large amounts of data in a compact, color-coded way. Each cell in the heatmap corresponds to a time period, and varying colors indicate levels of activity, with warmer colors representing higher activity and cooler colors indicating lower activity. This intuitive approach made it easy to spot patterns at a glance without overwhelming the caregiver with raw data.3. Impact on Proactive Care: The heatmap feature allows caregivers to quickly assess a patient’s daily or weekly activity levels, making it easier to identify abnormalities. For example, a sudden decrease in activity could indicate potential health concerns such as fatigue, discomfort, or a worsening condition. This insight empowers caregivers to take proactive steps, such as adjusting care plans, initiating early intervention, or alerting medical professionals.By providing an accessible, visually engaging way to track and analyze patient activity, the heatmap significantly enhances the ability to detect early warning signs and prevent more serious health issues from developing. This feature supports more informed decision-making and ultimately improves patient outcomes.
The integration of smart devices with cloud accessibility in the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform presented several key challenges in ensuring reliable real-time data transmission while maintaining patient privacy and security. Here are the major challenges we encountered and how we addressed them:1. Reliable Real-Time Data Transmission: Ensuring that health data from various smart devices could be transmitted to the cloud in real-time was one of the primary challenges. Network latency and potential disruptions in connectivity could cause delays or interruptions. To address this, we incorporated redundancy mechanisms and local data processing through edge computing, which allowed us to process critical data on-site before sending it to the cloud, ensuring smooth and consistent data transmission.2. Privacy, Security, and Device Compatibility: Our smart devices are based on WiFi wireless sensing technology, which means they do not require cameras for capturing images or the need for users to wear any devices. This design significantly reduces any sense of constraint or privacy concerns, as users can monitor their health in high-privacy areas, such as bedrooms or bathrooms, without the worry of images being captured or stored. Additionally, our AI model leverages cloud computing and big data, ensuring no local storage of sensitive data. We also implemented identity verification and authorized access protocols, adding an additional layer of security to protect user data.3. Scalability and Performance: As more devices and users were added to the platform, managing large volumes of real-time health data became challenging. We focused on building a scalable cloud architecture, with load balancing and fault tolerance in place, to ensure that the system could handle high volumes of concurrent data requests without compromising performance. In summary, ensuring reliable real-time data transmission while maintaining patient privacy and security involved overcoming challenges related to data consistency, device compatibility, encryption, scalability, and user privacy. By employing advanced encryption, edge computing, scalable infrastructure, and non-contact health monitoring, we were able to build a platform that ensures both secure data handling and an exceptional user experience.
In designing the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform, we focused on making complex health data easy to understand and actionable for both caregivers and patients. The visual sleeping score is one example of this effort, and its development involved a careful process of identifying key metrics and presenting them in a way that maximizes clarity.1. Identifying Key Metrics: We worked closely with healthcare professionals and caregivers to determine which metrics are most critical for patient care. For instance, we set a normal fluctuation threshold range for parameters like breathing and heart rate. If the system detects sustained values outside of the threshold, it will trigger an alert. Additionally, we can set sleep change reminders, including trends related to sleep stages and duration, time to fall asleep, and movement during sleep. These metrics allow caregivers to promptly detect potential issues in a patient’s health.2. User-Centered Design: Understanding that caregivers often need to make quick decisions based on data, we aimed to simplify the information while retaining its value. Through interviews and testing, we identified that visual representations, like scores or color-coded systems, would help caregivers quickly assess a patient’s sleep health. We also used consistent design elements, such as color gradients and intuitive icons, to ensure the information remained clear and easy to interpret without overwhelming the user.3. Data Simplification: We simplified complex data into visual formats that reduce cognitive load. For the visual sleeping score, we used a clear color-coded scale from poor to excellent, with numbers representing different levels of sleep quality. This allows caregivers to quickly spot potential issues without needing to analyze raw data.Ultimately, our goal was to make health data more accessible and actionable through simple, effective visual representations. By focusing on key metrics and presenting them clearly, we ensured that caregivers could make informed decisions quickly, leading to better patient care outcomes.
The Hearts Health Monitoring Platform's availability in both English and Mandarin reflects our commitment to providing a global and inclusive healthcare solution. To maintain a consistent user experience across different cultural contexts, we considered several key factors in the design process:1. Visual Design Consistency: We maintained consistent visual design across both versions, ensuring that elements like icons, colors, and charts are interpreted similarly in both languages. This uniformity helps reduce confusion, allowing users to rely on visual cues, regardless of the language.2. Simplified Interface Design: We opted for neutral tones in the interface, reducing the clutter of text and focusing on presenting data through charts and graphs. This approach allows users to quickly understand key information through intuitive visual displays, minimizing text-based distractions and enhancing usability.3. Cross-Regional User Testing: Throughout the design process, we conducted extensive user testing with both English and Mandarin-speaking users. This helped us identify potential areas of confusion or differences in user preferences, allowing us to refine the platform for seamless cross-cultural use.Ultimately, our goal was to create a platform that provides an intuitive and effective user experience, regardless of language or cultural background. By focusing on visual consistency, cross-regional user testing, and a simplified interface design, we ensured the platform delivers valuable, reliable, and easily accessible health data to users worldwide.
The automatic functionalities of the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform significantly improve working efficiency for healthcare centers. To measure and optimize this improvement during the development process, we followed several key steps:1. Identifying Key Pain Points: We collaborated with healthcare professionals to understand the most time-consuming tasks in their daily routines. These included manual data entry, constant monitoring of vital signs, and the need for rapid decision-making. By identifying these pain points, we could prioritize automation features that would deliver the most impact.2. Automation of Routine Tasks: We implemented automatic data collection from various smart devices, ensuring real-time monitoring of vital signs, such as heart rate and respiration. The platform automatically analyzes this data and triggers alerts when thresholds are exceeded, allowing healthcare staff to focus on responding to critical issues rather than continuously tracking patient data.3. Measuring Efficiency Gains: To measure the effectiveness of these automatic functionalities, we conducted pilot tests with healthcare centers and gathered feedback on the time saved in daily tasks. We also tracked response times to alerts and assessed how much quicker staff could react to patient conditions with automated notifications compared to manual methods.4. Continuous Optimization: We used real-time data from the platform’s performance to assess areas of improvement. For instance, we analyzed how well the automatic alerts aligned with actual patient needs. If a specific alert was triggered too frequently or missed critical conditions, we adjusted the algorithms to ensure more accurate and timely notifications. Additionally, we optimized the user interface to streamline the process of reviewing and acting on alerts.5. Feedback Loops: During the development phase, we continuously gathered feedback from healthcare professionals to refine the platform. This involved testing the automatic functionalities under various real-world scenarios, ensuring that the system remained efficient and adaptable to different healthcare environments.6. Impact on Care Delivery: We also assessed how automation improved overall patient care. By reducing manual interventions, healthcare staff were able to dedicate more time to patient interaction and proactive care. The platform’s automated monitoring and alert system not only saved time but also contributed to faster response times, ultimately improving patient outcomes.Through this process of measuring, testing, and optimizing, we ensured that the automatic functionalities in the Hearts Health Monitoring Platform delivered significant efficiency improvements for healthcare centers, enabling staff to provide better, more responsive care.
