About Crystal Charging Desk Lamp
Crystal is a modular charging desk lamp designed for ambient lighting. The lamp combines a metal stand with several pieces of Spanish natural travertine. Each travertine unit works as an independent wireless charging light and can be used alone or combined with others. Magnetic connections allow free arrangement, and the units recharge when returned to the base. The lamp switches on when a glass is placed on the surface. A light tap adjusts brightness, and a long press changes the color temperature. Further lighting modes can be set through a mobile application.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- This is a modular smart charging lamp that combines a metal stand with multiple pieces of Spanish natural travertine. Its design features include each travertine piece functioning as an independent wireless charging light unit, supporting free combination and individual use. The product integrates the artistic beauty of natural materials with smart modular technology, and through its dedicated base lighting solution for whiskey glassware, achieves an organic combination of practical functionality and specific scenario atmosphere creation.
- Inspiration
- The core concept of this project stems from insights into the demand for personalized high-end lighting. By integrating the raw texture of Spanish natural travertine with the specific lighting atmosphere requirements of whisky tasting, combined with modular design and wireless charging technology, each travertine unit becomes an independent light source. These units can be freely combined to create personalized lighting effects while perfectly meeting the atmosphere creation needs of high-end social scenarios such as whisky tasting.
- Research
- High-end users' demands for lighting have evolved beyond mere illumination, shifting towards scene atmosphere creation. The modular travertine lamp has emerged in response, combining natural materials with wireless charging technology. It not only meets specific scenario needs like whiskey tasting but also enables personalized lighting effects through free combination. This design represents a new direction for smart homes by integrating art and technology.
- Challenge
- The core challenge of this project lies in balancing the material characteristics of natural travertine with the functional requirements of smart lighting. The design team conducted meticulous research, optimizing the light transmitting layer through optical simulations, adopting customized micro circuit solutions, and utilizing magnetic connection technology, ultimately achieving an organic integration of artistic form and technological functionality.
- Realization and Technology
- The product body utilizes a metal base and stand that undergo CNC precision machining, with surfaces finished by sandblasting and anodizing. Spanish natural travertine is processed through digital cutting and thickness optimization, with embedded wireless charging coils and LED light source modules. The travertine fixing structure is manufactured using injection molding to ensure uniform light transmission. The intelligent control system integrates touch chips and Bluetooth modules, supporting APP-programmable dimming, while the entire circuit system employs potting technology to enhance stability.
- Operation and Interaction
- The product activates automatically when a glass is placed. A light tap on the surface adjusts brightness, while a long-press switches the color temperature. Users can select from various lighting modes and create custom scenes via the mobile app. The modular travertine units feature magnetic attachment for free arrangement, functioning as a complete fixture or individual ambient lights. With the wireless charging base, the units automatically begin charging when returned, ensuring ready availability.
