Design Details
- Unique Properties
- The office includes wooden phone booths and a capsule bed, offering soundproof spots for calls or short breaks. A switchable glass partition separates communal and office areas, balancing openness with instant privacy. Curved elements flow throughout, from oval forms in the lounge to the light-diffusing ceiling in the meeting room, guiding the eye and expanding space. An unobstructed layout allows views from the entrance to the rear, integrating daylight and exterior scenery to foster openness and connection.
- Inspiration
- Rooted in the concept of 'harmonious' and 'collaborative' space, aiming to create a venue that is both independent and open for work and interaction. The designer, who is also a user of the space, has years of experience in the design industry and understands the dual needs of privacy for creative thought and comfortable open areas to facilitate inspiration and idea exchange among individuals. The layout, complemented by greenery, glass partitions, and premium furnishings, strikes a balance between private and communal needs, crafting an office that supports both focused work and collaborative engagement.
- Research
- In the design industry, people are the core, and space is the cradle of creativity. This 231.4 m2 office embodies 'harmony' and 'collaboration,' offering areas for both independent thought and shared dialogue. Communal and work zones are arranged to let connections flow naturally, fostering comfort and creativity. Light is central: carefully planned daylight and adjustable schemes reduce strain, boost productivity, and spark inspiration. Each workspace thus supports focus, innovation, and overall performance.
- Challenge
- The main challenge was ensuring that natural light evenly illuminated every corner of the elongated space. Through meticulous spatial arrangement and material choices, the designer skillfully directed light from the balcony into the interior. At the same time, it was needed to balance spatial openness with the privacy requirements of different areas. The designer expertly addressed sound isolation between communal and private office areas while maintaining an unobstructed flow and ample natural lighting.
- Realization and Technology
- The project emphasizes a harmonious blend of natural warmth and comfort. A milky-brown palette flows throughout, with textured paint finishes adding refinement. Flooring pairs large imported tiles with woven rugs, layering depth through contrast. A smart lighting system enables adjustable color and brightness, creating optimal settings for different needs. In the meeting room, a translucent ceiling membrane ensures accurate material and color presentation under natural light, enhancing both precision and visual comfort.
- Operation and Interaction
- Visitors were impressed by the space's refined elegance, praising it as a high-end office designed with employee well-being in mind. Artwork and artistic decor in the communal areas create a refreshing contrast to the formality of typical meeting spaces. Employees find the design both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional, particularly appreciating the capsule bed and phone booths, which significantly enhance productivity. The lighting and material choices foster a relaxed atmosphere, while the open layout encourages communication and collaboration among team members.
- Project Duration and Location
- The project finished in September 2024 in Taiwan.
- Specifications
- The project spans a total area of 231.4 square meters, located on the sixth floor of a new building. It includes an open display and reception area, a conference room, a finance office, an executive office, an open workspace, two individual phone booths, and a multifunctional capsule bed. A semi-outdoor balcony serves as an inspiring, creative platform. The layout fully embodies a balance of openness and privacy, with natural lighting prioritized for areas where users spend extended time, aiming to provide an efficient and collaborative workplace.
