Design Details
- Unique Properties
- "The Serum" pack is a fusion of nature and science, represented by the alchemical symbol "Θ" for salt, which signifies purification. Its 99.69% natural content is reflected in the design’s purity and simplicity, while the pack itself is 100% recyclable, emphasizing sustainability. The radiant circular logo symbolizes the sun, face, and earth, uniquely capturing the holistic Greek philosophy. This design emphasizes transformation, linking the elements of nature with modern skincare innovation.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration is drawn by the holistic Greek philosophy around nature, the healing power of the sun and the perfect balance of the circle.
- Research
- The packaging design for "The Serum" reflects a comprehensive design research process dedicated to enhancing user experience. We conducted qualitative research to understand consumer perceptions and needs regarding skincare products. The aim was to create a packaging solution that is both visually appealing and functional. We employed user interviews, competitive analysis, and focus groups to gather diverse perspectives. Techniques included surveys, prototyping, and usability testing; tools like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator were utilized for design mock-ups. Our target participants included skincare enthusiasts and industry professionals.
- Challenge
- The hardest part of this design activity was balancing aesthetics with functionality and sustainability. While we aimed to create an elegant and visually striking package for "The Serum," we also faced challenges in selecting eco-friendly materials that could protect the serum effectively. Additionally, ensuring that the design resonated with target users while meeting their practical needs required extensive iterations and feedback. Striking this balance between beauty, usability, and environmental responsibility was a complex process that demanded careful consideration and creative problem-solving.
- Realization and Technology
- The design of "The Serum" packaging was crafted using a combination of sustainable materials, including recycled paper and biodegradable plastics, ensuring environmental responsibility. We employed digital prototyping to visualize concepts rapidly and utilized 3D printing for physical models, allowing us to assess ergonomics and aesthetics effectively. Techniques such as user-centered design and iterative testing guided our process, incorporating valuable feedback from focus groups. This methodology ensured that every element, from the vial to the box, harmonized in both functionality and visual appeal, enhancing user experience while minimizing ecological impact.
- Operation and Interaction
- The user opens the pack as if it is a coffee table book. The book of knowledge. The product is being discovered in layers. Inside a special pocket there is a small card with a spiritual quote.
