The recognition forms part of the 2021 - 2022 A' Design Award & Competition and was decided through blind peer review by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members, who evaluated anonymized entries against predetermined criteria.

About Katalon Ho Chi Minh Office
Katalon Ho Chi Minh is an office interior covering 923 square metres in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. The Tech Launch concept guides the design, using glass, steel and an industrial design language for a high technology look. The space is divided by an elevator corridor into two parts. The external zone holds the reception and a large multifunctional area for discussion, relaxation and company events. The internal zone holds the workstations, with diverse work settings and colourful details. A flexible floor plan and movable furniture support agile and hybrid working.

About the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award
The A' Interior Design Award is an international interior design competition recognizing good interior designs by interior designers and architects worldwide. It is organized within the A' Design Award & Competition and is open to interior designers, interior architects, architects and decorators from all countries. About A' Design Award & Competition
Organized annually since 2008, A' Design Award & Competition is an international, juried design accolade. The competition is open to entries from all countries. The philanthropic mission of the A' Design Award is to advance society through good design, by recognizing and promoting superior products, projects and services that benefit society, and by creating a global awareness and appreciation for good design practices and principles. Nominations are peer reviewed and evaluated anonymously by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members against predetermined criteria such as functionality, ergonomics, engineering, presentation, innovation, usability, sustainability and technology, with score normalization applied to remove biases. - Unique Properties
- The new office address the unique collaborations among employees, support the interaction across all departments and foster a sense of community and connectivity for Katalon. Cultivating the agile working to support hybrid work, the new office update the latest workplace trend to increase productivity as well as optimize the area with flexible floor plan and furniture to easily modify based on the occupants' need.
- Inspiration
- Learning about the mission and vision of Katalon, ADP-architects propose the "Tech Launch" concept for the new office of Katalon, the global software company, as it aimed to support businesses build better software through practical, cohesive, and innovative test tools.
- Research
- A thorough discovery process helped us meet DNB’s strategic objectives by engaging in interviews, utilisation studies, surveys, and social network analysis. This helped identify common collaborators among teams, how teams operated and what behaviors should be nurtured.
- Challenge
- The office space of Katalon is separated into 2 parts due to the elevator corridor. The challenge is how to create a united workspace to connect staff. The solution is to design a big multifunctional space to support employees' discussion/ relaxation and organize big events to strengthen the company culture. The other part serves as the workstation where staff fulfills their tasks with a variety of facilities, tools and equipment.

- To create a high-tech look for the Katalon office, ADP prioritized to use glass and steel combined with the industrial design language
- Operation and Interaction
- The workspace of Katalon is divided into the external zone and internal workstation. The external parts including the reception area and multifunctional zones embrace a modern, impressive and high-tech look following the "Tech Launch" idea to encourage pride and brand recognition by creating branded visual elements throughout the space. While also embracing the brand images, the working station is more energetic with diverse work settings and colorful design, posters that inspire Katalon's employees and boost creativity.
