Regarding Smart Breath Down Ski Jacket
Smart Breath Down is a ski down jacket designed for both skiing and everyday wear. The jacket uses a breathing system based on the distribution of body heat and sweat, aerodynamics, technical materials and a special structure. During exercise, hot and humid air is gathered and guided through airflow channels to specific heat dissipation areas. Adjustable outer channels let cold air enter, creating air circulation inside the garment. Zippers on the chest and sides open to speed up heat release. About 85 percent of the materials are recycled.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- Based on the distribution of human sweat and heat, combined with aerodynamics, as well as high-tech materials and special structural design, we have innovated the smart breath system. During physical exercises, the hot and humid air is gathered and distributed to the specific heat dissipation area through the airflow channels. At the same time, the external adjustable channels allow the cold air to enter the inside, thereby forming an air circulation in the clothes.
- Inspiration
- The design of this ski down jacket is inspired by making ski down jacket suitable for skiing and everyday wear. By improving the internal circulation of down garment, the balance of heat and moisture can be quickly reached when the exercise intensity is changed, thus to achieve daily insulation as well as discharge of sweat and heat during exercise.
- Research
- Research goal: To seize the market through innovative and practical design Research direction: Making outdoor sports more comfortable Market research: Online research and data analysis of store sales Social impact: It improved the fashion and practicality of ski down jacket, and at the same time, the use of warm and waterproof fabrics and materials helped it cope with weather changes better. Let outdoor garment fit into daily life, thereby to expand the consumer groups.
- Challenge
- Major challenge: How to make the down jacket keep warm during daily activities and speed up the discharge of sweat and heat during high-intensity exercise? Solution: In terms of insulation, the heating material is used as one of the linings to ensure the insulation performance during cold weathers. The core fabric is Schoeller® AerobranceTM, which can quickly cool down and is highly breathable, waterproof. Through the combination of special structure and functional materials, the hot air on the body surface can be gathered and exported.
- Realization and Technology
- During exercise, the main heating area of human body is on the upper back and along the spine, while the sweating area is on the upper back, along the spine and under the armpits. By combining ergonomics and aerodynamics, we developed an efficient dynamic air circulation system. Through special structural design and material combination, the air channel and temperature difference are used to gather and discharge the hot and humid air to specific heat dissipation area. Through the special structural design, the entry channel of external cold air is added, and air kinetic energy is introduced at the same time to promote air circulation on the body surface.
- Operation and Interaction
- During physical exercise, unzip the zippers on the chest and both sides to speed up the discharge of sweat and heat, and provide more spaces for the exercise. During walking or rest, zip the jacket up to ensure an excellent insulation effect
- Project Duration and Location
- The project started in 2021 in Jiangsu and finished in 2021.
- Specifications
- Core fabric: Aerobrane by Schoeller®, 10,000mm/60,000mvp(g/m²/24h), PFOS-free water-repellent DWR treatment; Other fillings: primaloft cotton, white goose down Clothing type: straight The whole dress is made of 85% recycled materials.
