More About Larma Apartment
Larma is an apartment building located in Royan, in the north of Iran. The building has six floors and twelve units. A gable roof answers the rainfall of Mazandaran in autumn and winter and follows the local building tradition. Brick, a material long used in Iranian architecture, forms the main surfaces. Colored glass set in wooden window frames brings tinted light into the corridors and stair areas. Shrubs and green plants on the facade recall the forests of Mazandaran, while large green terraces recall the yards of the region.
About Javad Davoodi
Javad Davoodi is a talented and experienced young Iranian architect who was born at north of Iran, Nour, in 1996. He was graduated from “Maziar university” of Iran. He pays attention to both traditional and modern architectures. He uses local and traditional symbols in new modern arts. He loves arts, architecture, theater, cinema and painting. He has worked in “Angle Construction Office” for five years and has managed and designed several projects.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- The Larma apartment project is designed in 6 floors and 12 units. It is located in the north of Iran, Mazandaran. Due to the climatic conditions of Mazandaran, rainfall in winter and autumn, a gable roof is used, which is a model of old and native architecture. The architecture of this building is inspired by Iranian and also local architecture. Using bricks, that is a symbol of Iranian architecture and local materials, is one of the main ideas of this project. To respect the environment, shrubs and green plants in the facade that symbolizes the forests of Mazandaran are used.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration of the project is based on Iranian and indigenous architecture.
- Challenge
- Decorations had a special place in Iranian architecture and colored glass is a symbol of Iranian architecture. Using colored glass between the wooden frames of windows and corridors and stair windows that radiant colored light in the building, In addition to their beauty, Iranians believe that it keeps insects and reptiles away. Moreover, using large and green terraces is a symbol of the yards of Mazandaran.

- The softwares by which the Larma projects have been designed are AutoCAD, SketchUp, Corona Render, and 3ds Max.

- The use of brick materials, which is a symbol of Iranian architecture. And the use of green architecture

- The design of project started in July 2021 and finished in February 2022. The location of project is Royan of Iran.
