About Primary Residence Type Design

Primary Residence is a typeface design that turns minimal architectural forms into letters and numbers, using the three primary colors red, blue and yellow. Each character shows a small part of a building, without a clear entry or exit. Stairs, windows and geometric shapes refer to the Bauhaus movement and to minimalist architecture. Design Details

Unique Properties
Primary Residence is an alphabet design that represents minimal architectural forms in typography with three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. Each letter and number represents a small part of the buildings without any apparent entry or existence. You may look at it with your own imagination to find the way in or out. You could even find connections from one character to the next. The stairs, windows, and geometric shapes are dedicated to the Bauhaus architectural style and minimalism, with the primary goal of blending the form and identities of the structure together.
Inspiration
The inspiration originally came from the Bauhaus Movement. Additionally, I was inspired by the design of stairs and windows from different parts of the world, like the fire escapes of old buildings in New York City and urban windows in European cities.
Research
Each main element of the letter based on the research of the Bauhaus movement or the world architectures' photography.
