About Line Rings Jewelry
Line Rings is a collection of nine rings designed to highlight the interaction between the wearer and the jewelry. A moveable sphere inside each ring slides along a track and gives feedback through sound, vibration and rotation. The collection was inspired by the labyrinth and by geometric architecture. Multi-segment structures create varied paths for the sphere. The rings are produced by three-dimensional printing and lost wax casting in brass with silver plating. Each ring measures approximately 4 by 4 by 4 centimeters.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- This project is a collection of nine rings that are designed to highlight the interaction between wearer and jewelry. The moveable sphere inside the ring provides feedback to the wearer through sounds, vibration, and rotation.
- Inspiration
- The Line Collection was inspired by the labyrinth and geometric architectures. The moveable sphere inside slides in various directions along the track, while diverse multi-segment structures bring greater possibilities to the trajectory of the ball. I utilized 3D CAD techniques to bring precision and higher complexity in creating perfect line construction in small scale rings.
- Challenge
- Precious measuring. After experimenting with different 3D printed materials, I limit the thickness of the wire to 1.2mm, with a 6mm gap in between the rail to ensure the sphere flow constantly in the ring. It is hard to calculate the measurement in a 3D form.
- Realization and Technology
- 3D Printing; Lost Wax Casting; Brass; Silver Plating
- Project Duration and Location
- The project started in September 2019 in Savannah, GA, and finished in March 2020.
- Specifications
- Approximately 4*4*4 cm each
- Keywords
- ring, line, movement, personality, jewelry
