Interview with Saman Sabbaghi
I'm Saman Sabbaghi, Someone who likes to discover beyond, I'm doing MA degree in Industrial Design, Also Interested in Gothic Art, Philosophy, Technology and new possibilities.
Design Legend Interview
29 July 2025
I am a graduate of both the bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial design. In my early 20s, I was studying mechanical engineering when I realized that the world around us needed more than just function, action, and reaction, and that there was an undeniable missing link in the chain of sociological elements. This is how I became interested in the concepts of aesthetics and sensory effects in product creation.
In a word, the concept of simplicity. This word created a significant change in my worldview. How can one take steps towards establishing balance and equilibrium towards the mental peace of the observer in a world that is constantly shedding and creating deeper and more complex layers of information. In a word, the concept of simplicity. This word created a significant change in my worldview. How can one take steps towards establishing balance and equilibrium towards the observer's mental peace in a world that is constantly shedding and creating deeper and more complex layers of information? And what will be the role of cognitive elements in the philosophy of minimalism.
As an overthinker, When I think about the meaning of the word "Design", which means to contemplate "Based on Designo", I come to the conclusion that I was probably born a designer!
Thank you for asking this question. I see three areas to dive into: combining sustainable design with biotechnology + interactive design with AI capabilities + service design with new financial markets.
Don't be judgmental...be observant.
A good designer follows trends and creates significant financial results for the employer. But a great designer changes the way people live in society and takes a step towards alleviating the historical suffering of humanity.
Minimalism. Not just in form and aesthetics, but in all dimensions of existence.
Because it is the bridge between human cognitive evolution and the speed of society's acceptance of changes.
I am currently interested in developing collaborations with talented teams in the field of new financial technologies.
It's called Bitrium. A megaproject in the field of simulating human financial transactions in a decentralized manner using artificial intelligence and quantum processing.
Less is more.
Adolf Loos
It's funny, but the Ligne Roset Togo Pouf is one of my all time signature creations!
I think the self-driving container concept design, that I did for NASA was one of my most interesting projects.
Don't be judgmental...be observant!
Maybe a fantastic Businessman!
Deep thinking.
Curiosity.
Getting to know the latest engineering analysis/design softwares along with studying sociology/cognitive research in order to know human interactions can be a daunting process.
In the simplest way and with the greatest benefit from combined capabilities with artificial intelligence.
Combining service/application design and (physical) product design in the FinTech field.
The restoration of suffering mankind in loveliest way!
Easier digestion of the unknown!
Numerous projects that will soon surprise the audience.
Big projects for big names such as NASA (Self-driving container) and TESLA (Cyber-H).
Products that were very expensive and unprofitable to produce, can be made available to the public and commercialized in an efficient manner.
Maximum outsourcing using artificial intelligence.
Today, new technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced 3D printing have multiplied the speed of project completion.
In my mind's parallel world!
Less is more!
Are you kidding?!!
Latest tools of Ai + Solidworks and Keyshot along with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
In a way, it complements the function of new technologies in design.
When will this guy introduce his next product?!
What a great honor to have had such a magnificent experience at this historic moment.
I'm always loyal to visionary teams.
Definitely my university professor at the graduate level, Mr. Ali Faraji.
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind + Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow (All written by Yuval Noah Harari)
Nature as the world's leading multidisciplinary science journal has a powerful role in my life as a designer and keeps me updated and also excited for new fields.
Jack Dorsey, Ridley Scott, ...
At first, it feels exciting, but as I move forward, the concept of (self) fades and I pay less attention to labels. Human progress in solving global problems feels more alive to me.
Black + White, Mountain, Winter and Moncler!
Mindfulness + Reading books + Jazz ambient and a fresh cup of coffee!
I think everyone realized this when I was 8 years old, painting cars.
We will become a unified intelligence that cannot be seen.
In closing, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the wonderful A' DESIGN AWARD team who, with their unwavering support for global talent, regardless of racial diversity, pave the way for economic, social, and emotional prosperity in future.
Designer Interview
18 October 2023
I have completed my education in the field of industrial design, Also I received BA/MA degree through these years... I have always had an uncontrollable interest in creating since childhood, and this matter showed itself in painting.
For me, Design is my Thinking's reflection.
Sneaker and shoes
As I mentioned before, my special interest is in the field of designing sneakers and shoes... I have a special interest in Adidas Y-3 brand products.
Sustainable ones / mostly freelancing ones / Artificial Intelligence
I'm always in this state.
Function and Ergonomics
Comfort and prestige
God mode!
The closer it is to the mindset of minimalism.
Aesthetic along with function and ergonomics through the lens of minimalism.
Gravity between them!
I imagine that the field of design will move from individual focus to institutionalism, and the giants of this field, who mostly operate in very large studios, will cause monopoly, and in the future, these companies will use artificial intelligence to design all stages and processes of the product from 0 to 100.
Science fiction novels...cyberpunk movies and up-to-date research articles.
In one word...Minimalism.
I live in Tehran, Iran. In fact, I do not include the dominant culture in my design approach because I believe that culture is a fluid thing and over time, different countries with diverse cultures in this world will move towards a single human nature due to the intertwining caused by technological progress. It does not mean to oppose the individual will of people in different parts of the world, but it is an act of hypocrisy.
In my opinion, companies should know exactly what they are considering in terms of aesthetics and functionality of the product... still some believe that the designer's role in the industry is not vital...Maybe a stronger communication between employers and designers can be created in social media.
Need assessment - Feasibility - Ideation (Sometimes by Ai) - Modeling development process
Hiking...
Focus more on the design philosophy than the economic topic. Wealth lies in the deepest cognitive layers of the human brain, which philosophy penetrates into.
Negative: You will become the toy of the employer's playful mind!
Positive: You'll find yourself...
Positive: You'll find yourself...
Less is More.
Sketching - 3D modeling
Physical activities should neutralize the pressure of mental activity, that's why I am very interested in hiking.
Minimum time can be about 1 month if everything goes professionally.
