Design Legend Interview
20 April 2019
I graduated from Tainan University of Technology and majored in interior design. Now I am a graduate student in the department of Visual Communication Design at Kun Shan University.
The renovation of the old space left me with good memories. Through planning and renovation, I hope to create more space for people to have better space experience and continue the memory of the old space.
I chose to become a designer.
I am mainly responsible for space design and I would like to integrate more design techniques into my work.
In my humble opinion, reading and thinking as much as possible is helpful!
The design is subjective. Personally, I value the aesthetics and functionality of a design. A good design should be aesthetic, practical and full of praise.
I would like to design for our environment. I expect that designed space can help everyone think deeply and grow their mind.
I always stay true to the mission and do what I should do.
“The rebirth of an old house Mao Fun” is the most proud of our work. With our design, this work has fully presented the aesthetics for a generation.
I look for aesthetics in daily life and accumulate these experiences. We have created platforms for everyone to have a better chance of understanding the aesthetics of living.
If I didn’t become a designer, I would like to be a teacher.
My wife is my biggest support.
My goal is making this space more beautiful through professional planning, improving everyone's aesthetics of living, and preserving and renovating instead of destruction.
We can share a lot of aesthetic experiences and delivery aesthetic education through design.
I am excited to share, guide and pass on my experience and knowledge!
For my point of view, the next design filed will be diversified design resources integration.
It usually takes me 4-6 months to finalize a design project.
Since 1945, we have been increasingly civilized while we have also gradually lost our culture. Let us pursue the classics of this era and inherit the culture from the previous generation.

I would like to make my design more diverse by learning different design fields. The renovation of the old space left me with good memories. I am more focused on the interaction between people and space during designing.
After my design is realized, I feel that I have fulfilled a mission and have a great sense of achievement.

I always consider safety and appearance first.
Designers should be responsible for making this space more beautiful through professional planning, improving everyone's aesthetics of living, and preserving and renovating instead of destruction.
My design inspiration usually comes from the building itself. We respect it, listen to it and interact with it, the structure and material applications of the building bring us inspiration.
The culture heritage of the country has a great influence on my design. I live in Tainan, Taiwan. Tainan is the most ancient city in Taiwan and is full of cultural heritage. Because of its long history, the streets in Tainan are unordered and inconsistent in style, while it is also diverse and full of stories, I attempt to find my belonging order in this city.
I usually begin with measuring the building itself and investigating the surrounding environment. And then, I study the layout and configuration of flow, and draw a sketch. After that, I start to create the design layout drawing and the construction drawing. Once the design is complete, the design will be executed.
Stay true to the mission, take people as the foremost.
For my point of view, it is very important for designers to keep the sensitivity and observation to aesthetics.
I manage my time by teamwork. Collaboration and appropriate division of labor can speed up the execution of work.
