My art and design background has passed through several fazes from book graphic design and book ilustrations to broadcast motion design of the TV programmes and landed in the current faze of graphic design and branding work for retail and public spaces. I studied in Moscow University of Print on Book and Publishing design department where we were exploring different graphical techniques from - traditional calligraphy, etching and woodcut to computer graphic design. Than I have done Master of Arts in Image and Communication in University of London direction Motion Graphics and finally MA Design in Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam.
I have become a designer because I think this profession combines creative and graphical skills and in the same time has a practical outcome.
I have chosen to become a designer, I have switched from fine arts graphics to it.
I wish to design more culture related brand identities and posters.
Young designers should be consistent in what they do and develop their style and vision independent from work circumstances.
A good designer goes with the flow. For the great designer it is not enough.
Good design is always solid, it does not rise questions.
Good design makes your life happier.
I would design design patterns for the metro station in every capital city of the world.
The series of opera posters for the opera house in New York.
Less is more
Studio Dumbar, Marcel Wanders, Thonik Design Studio, Buro Destruct
I like posters of Studio Dumbar because I am interested in modern interpretation of classical music.
My greatest design is graphic design for the identity of the city of Utrecht motion movie because there I have used the poem and it's diverse typography as a motion poem. As later this graphical language has formed the series of posters and brand identity.
I think they first of all have to choose the right design direction. Everyone has own strong points. And design as discipline is very broad and has many specializations.
May be would have become an opera singer.
Design for me is a successful combination of concept and form.
My mother
Broad vision of the world and interests.
Changing countries, looking for network, practical obstacles mostly
Visuals or photoes should be the highest quality and smart text indeed
Sustainability related project about overload in production of plastic
To create a recognizable visual language and to have my works being exposed in Stedelijk Museum.
Speed and quality
By creating more harmonised happy environment.
I am working on retail food store concept at the moment and excited about making this the most commonly used utilitarian public space special and highly aesthetic that people will smile there in their daily routine.
Projects which give me total freedom. It could be brand identity or motion movie or pattern - but in any case this is an exciting discovery for a right clue to successful solution.
I see design as a tool for more sustainable world. Design solution should serve the planet now.
Sustainability
Depends on specific project.
I start with collecting information, exploring strategy document and briefing.
To stay yourself and to be proud of your work. To set the quality on the first place.
I think the previous designs prepare the next trend.
It is very big because it is related with architectural design and materials.
Adobe Creative Suit, After Effects sometimes.
It is a major role i think together with concept of course.
I like when people want to know more about the design story and inspiration behind.
I make a printscreen or photo and collect it in my library for inspiration.
I do believe in co-design. Ideal design partner is architect for me. It is a good combination in work.
My university graphic design teacher V. E. Valerius.
Just exploration of Art History and all books related to it.
I combine commercial work with creative research and free work.
Coco Chanel
I am not that famous and did not participate in many awards, because I was deeply focused on practical work or creative free work and did not invest much energy in self promotion.
But I really like my experience with A design Awards - now feel sorry that have not started this activity earlier. It connects you with other professionals and teaches you a lot how to present your work.

Color: wine red or emerald green; place - Venice, food - Italian, season - summer, thing - e-book, brand - Karen Millen
Design is a serious business, no jokes!:)
I always look for inspiration on Internet to get new fresh ideas.
I was a wonderkind making highly detailed graphical drawings, copying Albrecht Durer and had at those times lots of exhibitions. At 15 it was over - I was searching for a new path and have discovered graphic design.
I am very afraid for the future of the Earth. Action should be taken now to save the planet.
I think that you can be anyone as soon as you are happy. That is why is so important to choose a right profession that gives you moments of joy during the day. I have found one.
Designer Interview
22 May 2019
My art and design background has passed through several fazes from book graphic design, book ilustrations and all techniques related to it to broadcast motion design - design of the TV programmes and landed in the current faze of graphic design and branding work for retail and public spaces.
The company creates branding concepts for retail / architectural spaces and general brand development.
Design for me is to find an answer. The only key that matches and opens the door to successfully working brand / visual communication.
I like to design posters and patterns for architecture.
I was very much inspired by posters of Studio Dumbar.
It was graphic design for the news TV programme.
Adobe Illustrator. I like to work with clean flat graphical style, so it perfectly suits me.
When I have a blank piece of paper in front of me and total freedom to create what I want!
Working with different materials and collaboration with interior architects in order to create one story.
Excitement and joy
Proud if the production was also successful. I like to work with perfectionists.
Good concept, attention to detail, quality in production
The first general feel and impression. How solid the visual story and concept are. Professionalism in composition and detail.
In my opinion designer should contribute to society by aesthetical and practical means. If this 2 aspect come together successfully - this is a great design!
The future of design is to care about environment and our planet I think
It was participation in International Poster Biennale The Golden Bee in Moscow 2018.
This year I would to participate in different graphic design biennales as well.
This year I would to participate in different graphic design biennales as well.
Classical music, nature, works of other designers, latest trends - everything around. You never know what will inspire you!
My style is clean and monumental. Less is more. My goal is to use less details and to achieve the most powerful and clear result. If it works I am happy.
I live in Amsterdam. Netherlands is the country of design. The general graphic design culture is on very high level and you can it on the street - the street posters inspire a lot. Pros - to create good design is easy if everything around you is on the same page with that. Cons - it would be good to be born here for more networking integration.
The work process always start with briefing, than goes conceptual faze, than design production faze
On my website www.big-idbrands.com work approach related to certain type of design direction is described.
On my website www.big-idbrands.com work approach related to certain type of design direction is described.
On the basis of portfolio and experience. I believe that years of experience in practical assignments count a lot.
My design process always starts with analysis of assignment and briefing. Than comes conceptual faze - moods and inspiration. Than principal design faze with several design directions being developed. Than design manual faze which is more focussed on detailed design development of certain direction.
My 5 different design lamps. Each has own trick.
Waking up. Doing design work. Going to yoga. Reading. Falling into sleep.
Always think about developing your strong points and creative vision independent from circumstances.
Positive: it is a truly interesting job. It is almost not a job so great it is!
Negative: difficult to combine with business and practical aspects. It is another job. Ideal situation is when designer works together with business partner specializing in marketing and project management.

To achieve quality and to stay true to yourself in any case!
Strong conceptual thinking, good aesthetical feel and knowledge of composition, attention to detail
Abobe Creative Suit, Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, books, Internet
By confirming all principles and major direction in the beginning of the project, it saves time on the production faze.
It depends on the specific project.
What project are you working on now?
My most important job experience is related to different design directions - from broadcast design to architectural design. The most important is - when I have a chance to own the project development totally from scratch.
Metrogiprotrans, 1 Russian State Channel, 2 Russian State Channel, KPMG, Post NL, IHG, Diana Ross, Moscow Kremlin Museum, City of Utrecht New Identity Campaign, in cooperation with Jos De Vries: Coca-Cola, Bever, Intermarche
I enjoy working with architecture because it turns into monumental and 3 dimensional design object.
My future plans are to continue to get more independent creative assignments and to cristallize further my design vision and style.
I work both: with architects if it is architectural or retail project, myself if it is a series of posters.
I work now on a series of posters against production of unnecessary plastic items. I think it is really getting serious now and it is a good moment to shout about it on every corner!

I think that the biggest goal and challenge for a designer whether working in the agency or as a freelancer is to stay yourself and to discover yourself.
