Design Legend Interview
20 May 2019
After I attended an excellent education at a Germany boarding school I relocated to Italy in 2014 where I have started to study Fashion Design at Polimoda, Florence. Since I was a child I have had a strong interest in Fashion& Art and it was just a matter of time to become a designer. In 2018 I have successfully finished my studies with a BA degree and have been working on my lable since 2017.
I had time to freely decide what I wanted to become.
I am doing fashion design for women, merging fashion & art to create a piece of art to wear.
Not forcing to create something great and not trying to compair the design with others.
There is no other job for me than beeing a designer.
Definitely the strong support of my family & friends !
They should present their work as if it was a mirror of their own identity.
You can deliver highly explosive topics in a subliminal and sensitive way without offending anyone but yet still able to hit the nail on the head and start making people to review their point of view.
Humans are no machines, maybe in some parts this should be considered.
Research, research, research ..
Fashion for me is art. Art means eternity, boundless possibilities.
The need itself sets the trend - or the wish to create a need and therefore a design.
I love food in general but I would say one of my favourite foods is bavarian cuisine.
When I see process, movement in the development of creating.
Designer Interview
22 August 2019
Since I was a child I have had a strong interest in Fashion& Art and it was just a matter of time to become a fashion designer.
I have started working for my own line since 2017 to introduce myself as a designer in diverse medias such as Fashion Weeks, magazines etc.
Fashion Design for women
I like to work not only with fabrics but also with unusual materials like e.g. in this collection Bittersweet where iron constructions were used and transformed and were part of the garments.
It can happen anywhere at any time whenever something porvokes me emtionally.
Every step for me is important in the procedure and equally elaborated as they built up on each other to realize my design.
Emotions vary, but mostly joyfully fulfilling.
Very satisfied, happy, proud and grateful to have had the possibility to work on this project. Its a great feeling to look back at the first sketches and then seeing the final result in 3D in front of you.
I need to get the feeling that it is an authentic work created by the designer trying to create something that I have not seen in this particular way.
My process of design starts with the research, ideas and inspirations gathered all together and then brought together like a puzzle. Developed with the knowledge of fashion history, technical sketches, illustrations, computer work, fittings, try outs, fabric manipulation/samples, collages, moodboards etc.
Listen to your ''gut feeling''.
To realize a collection in my studies takes one year. From the first idea to the final result with finished outfits including things like collection book, collection development etc.
I am looking forward to finish my BA studies this June 2018 including a final year collection as well as finding an internship/job to gain more experience in the fashion world and learn more about the process in companies.
Me, myself and I. From the research, management, concept,colour/fabric board, sewing, draping, pattern making, knitting, calculations, organiszations, everything. From the theoretical to the practical.
I am working on my latest collection which is going to be finished and published within this summer.
