Designer of the Day Interview
30 April 2018
I graduated in the three-year course of Interior Design at IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, via A. Sciesa) in 2015. Here I developed an interest in Naval Design due to the collaboration with MONDOMARINE & HOT LAB. Subsequently, I attended a master’s degree course at ‘Politecnico di Milano’ that allowed me to specialise in Product Design. I became a designer because I love imagining and dreaming about everything that can be created.I think I was destined to become a desiger.
I became a designer because I love imagining and dreaming about everything that can be created.I think I was destined to become a desiger. I worked for the architect Simone Micheli's studio. I am a young designer, my studio is still creating, I hope I can do it soon.
My process of a good design is born with intuition and a strong concept, then we continue with the creation of drawing sketches, then we make a real 3D project to understand how the design works.
the most exciting phase of a design is the realization. design makes me happy, but it is an emotion that can not be described. The initial idea is more exciting, and the path of design is the most exciting thing.
I like to see things work. I would call myself ‘eternal enthusiastic’. I like to carry my job in my interests and my interests in my job. I have a very strong character and I am very sure of myself in my work and in the things I do.I think these skills are allowed to become a designer. The great masters of design have influenced and my design. I always take inspiration from the teachers of the past.
My dream is to be recognized as an Italian designer. My plans are to open my studio, I hope, with my co-worker Diana Rumbolà. I would like to live in America or in Italy and be able to work planning with a team.
My advice for new and young designers is to never lose sight of your dreams, work hard and not be afraid to express your ideas. In this world team work is important, we need to know how to listen to advice, even from other young designers.
I'm a young designer so I don't feel like having much advice. The only advice I can have is to always be humble in one's life.
I like to start the day with new challenges, I love to design, and test myself in every kind of design, from the product to the graphic one.My day begins with information, looking for new technologies or materials, or the trendy color of the moment.
I want my designs to reflect my way of being, I also follow trends, but I think the best way to express myself is through design. I'm always looking for the beautiful aesthetic, but functional, with the use of new technologies that respect the environment. I like to do is develop a collection of products and I would take inspiration from everything around me.
I do not think there are good or bad designs, I evaluate a design based on the type of materials used and the type of technology. I believe we must always be on the cutting edge.
I decide that my design is ready when I'm satisfied with what it is. When it is physically produced, design will always be a way to improve it.In general I think that you never stop learning.
I haven't been lucky enough to make a great project yet. I'm still a young designer. But I think all my projects are special for me.
There are many. My source of inspiration are the masters of design like: Achille Castiglioni, Cesare Leonardi, Vico Magistretti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Zaha Hadid, Le Corbusier
Now I'm in Italy. At the moment I would like to make the prototype of the lamp being, in order to be able to produce it.I think every city can give us a different stimulus. At the moment my favorite city is New York, but I always change my mind. I think culture greatly influences the type of design.
I think it's easy to work with me, working alone or in a team. My ideal work partner must know how to listen and our relationship must be of mutual esteem.I believe that the characteristics that a good designer should have are: imagination, creativity, patience, enthusiasm, and humility. In the people who work with me, I'm looking for a "factory of ideas".
I haven't had the chance to work for the community yet but I would like to try and do pro bono jobs.
There are many benefits of participating to design competitions such as the A' Design Award. One of the most important sencondo me is to test yourself as a designer. This competition gives you the opportunity to make known your design and also your professional figure. Competitions can contribute a lot to the realization of their dreams. And I think they are important and relevant as professional growth. I'm so happy to have participated in this competition and I hope I can win another one.

I can't say why, I think it's something I've always had inside of me.
I chose to become a designer. My parents have always taught me to follow my dreams.
I don't have a preference, I really like designing everyday objects, like lamps or furniture in general. Objects that can fill spaces and make them unique.
so much diligence, and a lot of passion
A great designer is the one who can see beyond.
I evaluate the design by the type of materials that are used. I believe we must always be on the cutting edge.
Good Design keeps your memorable brand. I believe, simply, that good design is good business, for everyone.
I don't know, I like to design for anyone who wants to make the spaces of his home unique and welcoming.
there are many, but my dream is to design my future house

Achille Castiglioni, Cesare Leonardi, Vico Magistretti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Zaha Hadid, Le Corbusier

my BEING lamp I think is fantastic because from a simple trunk I made a lamp that with its cuts can make an environment with a unique light.
I have not done anything in particular, I am simply myself
if I had not become a designer I would have become a doctor.
For me design is imagination, innovation and simplicity
My biggest supporters are my parents.
Hard work and patience
The biggest obstacle that I am still facing is the crisis that exists in Italy, the world of design feels it a lot.
With pride. I believe that being proud of one's work is the basis.
now I don't know. I'm very young, I still have many dreams to realize.
open my design studio.
Unique and particular projects
Design, if done well, takes great care of the environment, we must try to design thinking about what surrounds us: the earth
I'm working on making the being lamp
Many design projects gave me satisfaction, but especially the two who won the A' design award.
Because it was a great test.
Because it was a great test.
I would like there to be more attention to nature and the world
I hope in America
depends on the extent of the project.
I start from the concept and then proceed with the realization of the design, but we must always have an inspiration
believe in yourself
I think design is defining trends.
The role of technology is very important in the design. Because the world is in constant discovery and also the design of keeping up with new technologies.
I use many softwear:
Autocad 2D, 3DS Max Design, Rhinoceros and I have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, up to the latest versions.

The role of color and materials in design is essential.
I like to tell where I get inspiration from.
When I see a new design or a new product, I immediately think about what materials were used and the production process and where the inspiration comes from
I believe a lot in co-design, I already have a partner in some of the projects, she is a former college friend of mine: Diana Stefania Rumbolà
My parents and my boyfriend. I am very attentive to the opinions of the people I love
No one in particular
I don't consider myself a master designer yet.
I would like to speak with the Corbusier, Castiglioni, Mendini and many others, but above all I would like to see them while they are planning
I'm not so famous, and I consider myself a very modest person.
Color: white
place: Sardinia
season: summer but also winter
thing: the cups for coffee, I collect them
brand: none in particular.

there are a lot of fun moments in the design, especially if it's done in a team. When you're tired, the laugh of a team member (friend) is always what you need to keep going
coffee makes me happy; no I'm joking, what motivates me are my dreams.
I never imagined becoming a good designer.
The future is a mystery. I like to imagine it always different.
I like to see things work. I would call myself ‘eternal enthusiastic’. I like to carry my job in my interests and my interests in my job. The great love for design has led me to specialise my career increasingly in furniture product. I always try to cultivate my curiosity.

When I think about good design, I think about functionality and the ability for someone who has never seen the finished item before to ascertain the information he or she needs quickly. Great design adds beauty and style to that functionality. Having an outdated look or one that doesn't match what you're trying to make can definitely hurt the end result, but having poor functionality, especially in an age where we have at least 2-3 other options for a service, can destroy a design.
I like to do is develop a collection of products and I would take inspiration from everything around me.
The "Eames" design is inspiring. During the project, Charles told a staff member, “If you ask for criticism, you get it. If you don’t, there is a chance everyone will be too busy to worry about it.”
I think of the tradition that the company has and I try to respect it to the fullest.
Everything can be the source of inspiration if you are open for it.
When there is something that inspires me strongly.
I focus more on the concept and then on the realization.
The most exciting phase of a design is the realization. Design makes me happy, but it is an emotion that can not be described. The initial idea is more exciting, and the path of design is the most exciting thing.
It's an emotion that can not be described.
Concept is the foundation of any successful design, it’s like design DNA. First of all I figure out what I am trying to say conceptually. The concept provides the direction for the entire project. Without a solid concept its almost impossible to create a lasting design.

It is said that: socially responsible design is an attitude that emphasizes the needs and experiences of people over concerns of form or aesthetics. I think that we can pay attention to form and aesthetics, also respecting the environment. A resposable design can also be a perfect design in form and aesthetic.
The task of design is to find aesthetic and functional solutions to everything we live. I hope that in the future there will be a lot more attention to the environment. I hope in a furious design that cares about our life and our world
I have not done an exhibition yet, I hope I can do it soon.
My inspiration comes from everything around me. One of my greatest sources of inspiration is Nature, its forms, the ability to combine colors, its functions.
The thing that interests me most has happened to do something that will adore and excite others. I really like the colors, the lights and their combination. Then everything must become functional.
I live in Italy, one of the main countries in the world for culture and artistic heritage. Surely the culture appresadal my country has allowed me to grow until now. But even the contamination of cultures I find it a very interesting topic.
I haven't worked with companies yet.
I don't know because I have not worked with companies yet, but I think they need to look for specialized designers who have a lot of practical experience.
My design process starts from the concept, the concept is fundamental, then from the idea I try to create through sketches what can be the shape of the object, then I think a 3D model to better see the result after the result satisfies me can proceed with production

Every day is different!
Be curious, ask lots of questions, inquire about how an object is produced, go to visit factories or laboratories, understand the material, know it to be able to appreciate it in all its particularities, and do not demoralize immediately to the first closed door.
I think that if one appreciates and loves his profession as a designer, he can only find positive aspects
Concentration, imagination and feeling good about yourself
Culture, the history of design and society, knowledge of materials and new production techniques, belief in oneself, creativity, imagination and passion.
First pencils pens and watercolors and drawing tools, afterwards come the software and hardware for project accuracy.
Organizing your time, but I think that it takes a lot of experience!
It depends on the inspiration from the moment and from other factors.
Are you happy and satisfied with your work?
My most important work experience was in the studio of architect Simone MIcheli, where I learned so much and put into practice what I studied.
I'm a young designer, I do not have any clients yet
Design home furnishings and interior layouts.
I hope to open my own design studio, either in Italy or abroad.
I work alone or in a team, I like teamwork.
Of course, I have many projects that I hope to accomplish.
