Tentang Faculty Architecture Sekolah Arsitektur
Faculty Architecture adalah sebuah sekolah arsitektur di Kigali, Rwanda, yang direncanakan untuk 600 mahasiswa di atas lahan seluas 5.600 meter persegi. Rancangan ini berawal dari sebuah volume sederhana bertingkat dua. Volume tersebut ditarik terpisah pada sisi-sisi yang berlawanan, sehingga tercipta celah di bagian tengah yang membentuk ruang terbuka bagi para mahasiswa. Batu alam digunakan untuk selubung eksterior, sedangkan beton berwarna alami digunakan untuk bagian interior. Jendela-jendela kecil menghadap ke luar, sementara jendela-jendela besar yang menghadap ke dalam dinaungi oleh tritisan atap. Bagian atas yang terpangkas memasukkan cahaya alami dan meningkatkan sirkulasi udara.

- Keunikan
- The firm responded to an international call for tender launched in March 2012 by the government of Rwanda for the design of a new architecture school to accommodate 600 students on a 5,600 sq.m. site not far from the existing faculty. For this project we began with a simple form on two levels which we distorted in the same way tectonic forces distort land masses: we pulled on opposite sides, making a gap in the centre that would form the outside area for the students.
