Sobre Twiny Sofá multifuncional

Twiny é un sofá multifuncional deseñado para nenos en fogares, escolas infantís e gardarías. O sofá parece un asento lúdico e oculta unha mesa regulable con almacenaxe. Ao separar as dúas unidades do sofá revélase a mesa oculta. Ao xirar a parte superior da mesa cámbiase a súa altura e ábrese o compartimento de almacenaxe. As pezas modulares poden dispoñerse en diferentes configuracións para xogar, estudar e relaxarse. A tapizaría está feita de poliéster reciclado. A mesa está fabricada con labras de madeira recuperada e plástico reciclado.

The upholstery is made from 100% recycled polyester, providing a soft, durable surface that emphasizes environmental responsibility. The adjustable table is constructed from a sustainable composite, combining reclaimed wood chips and recycled plastic, which highlights its eco-friendly design.
Reto de Deseño: The creative challenge involved integrating versatile features, such as hidden table and storage, without compromising user experience and aesthetics. Balancing functionality with a playful design for children was essential, as well as ensuring safety and ease of use.
Investigación: The research aimed to develop multifunctional, space-saving children's furniture that promotes versatility, safety, and sustainability. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected through interviews and home observations. The findings underscored the need for adaptable, safe, and easy to maintain furniture with integrated storage. Insights emphasized the value of multifunctional furniture in fostering creativity and independence. This research culminated in the creation of Twiny furniture, a versatile, modular design that maintains organized and clutter-free spaces.
Inspiración: Twiny multifunctional sofa was inspired by the increasing need for adaptable furniture in small living spaces, particularly for families with children. Observing how limited space can restrict children's ability to explore and engage in creative play, I aimed to design a piece that not only maximizes space but also encourages independence and imagination. My motivation stemmed from the desire to create a functional, safe, and easy to maintain solution that meets the needs of modern families.
Duración do Proxecto: The Project started in Cologne in May 2024 and was completed in Cologne in August 2024.
Fluxo de Operacións: Twiny multifunctional furniture is designed for easy interaction and transformation, making it perfect for children. To reveal the hidden table, simply separate the two sofa units. By turning the top part of the table, children can adjust its height and access the storage compartment. The modular pieces can be reconfigured into different layouts to suit various activities, fostering creativity and independence.
