سامسا یک اثر هنری عکاسی از مجموعه «غفلت» است. این مجموعه نمونه‌های نگهداری‌شده حشراتی را نشان می‌دهد که بیشتر آن‌ها منقرض شده یا در معرض خطر جدی انقراض هستند. تصاویر با یک سیستم دوربین دیجیتال و لنز ماکرو ۱۰۵ میلی‌متری تهیه شده‌اند. از قابلیت چندشات (مولتی‌شات) برای ایجاد فایل‌های بسیار بزرگ با وضوح ۱۸۵ مگاپیکسل استفاده شده است. یک استودیوی کوچک رومیزی ساخته شد تا نمونه‌های شکننده تقریباً بدون هیچ‌گونه جابه‌جایی عکاسی شوند. چاپ‌ها در دو اندازه و در نسخه‌های محدود تولید می‌شوند. هدف این اثر آشکار ساختن زیبایی نامتعارف حشرات و جلب توجه به انقراض آن‌هاست.

Part of the collection NEGLECT, photographed specimens of animals, most of which are extinct or critically endangered.
I want to show a little bit of the sometimes bizarre beauty of the insects, so that the viewer might see them with different eyes.

- The hardest part was to invent a small table-top-studio situation to photograph the little very fragile prepared insects. The photographer wanted to touch them as little as possible because the preparations are very fragile.

Florian W. Mueller worked before with the Senckenberg Institute on a project about mammals. - مدت زمان پروژه
- The planning took about half a year, in total it was four days on site to photograph. The post production took another two weeks.

- The photographer asked for the permission to photograph these sometimes very rare or extinct insects in the institute in Brandenburg near Berlin in Germany. Then he got to work there with great support.
