El Archivo de Construcción Urbana de Ningbo es un edificio de archivo situado en la ciudad de Ningbo, provincia de Zhejiang, China. El diseño interpreta la historia de la ciudad como una historia de la construcción. Los edificios se entienden como ensamblajes de bloques, por lo que el archivo se compone de bloques apilados que combinan las propiedades del espacio y del material. Los bloques se agrupan en tres tipos: transparentes, macizos y especiales. El terreno tiene una superficie de 6.567 metros cuadrados, con 17.190 metros cuadrados de superficie construida en once niveles sobre rasante y 6.405 metros cuadrados en dos niveles bajo rasante.

Propiedades Únicas: This design hopes to interpret history of Ningbo through a practice of fortification. Base on the understanding of urban and architecture, architects superimpose the two properties of 'space' and material to support the concept of Building Blocks from another new perspective, and this is used as a basic element of design.'Blocks' are divided into three categories: 'transparent', real and special block differently.
Dimensiones y Embalaje: The total site area is 6567 sqm, which contributes 17190 sqm floor area on the ground and 6405 m2 floor area underground, with 11 floors and 2 floors respectively.

Desafío de Diseño: Archives, which is regarded as an important culture carrier of collecting and preserving history, has abundant historical and cultural significance. Ningbo Urban Development Archives is mainly used to collecting developing history of this city, that it is called “Fortification History”. So, the start of design in this project is how to represent the concepts about fortification.
Inspiración: City is composed by buildings, and buildings are constructed from different building blocks, which have special space and material attributes; hence, the history of city construction can be understood as history of fortification, and Ningbo Urban Development Archives is a collector of this history of fortification indeed. Base on the understanding of the city construction, we superimpose the two properties of 'space' and 'material' to support the concept of 'Building Blocks'.
