I become from set design and film production design background where I design film environments where design become a storytelling tool .
I believe that all people are designer in term of making some object into something "functional" , for me designing for films made me question every object and every style while keeping a creative mindset in mind and that gave me no limit other than the concern of this will tell our story or not .
It's more of an organic career I had . I started my joureny since childhood with drawing and after that learned painting , to painting murals meanwhile I had the love for cinema and end up designing the worlds for stories
The goal is to design for my culture and for the people . I aim to design things that base on behavior and daily-life studies and needs .
I reed a quote of the Japanese designer Sori Yanagi once that said " true design lies in a real counter to trends ".
It's what the design says in all its aspect . in the material , the form , the color and texture , even the way people use it or interact with it .
Well , one part of it that good design is timeless but in the same time it carries a narrative about where and when it come from , it's tell us about the social , economical , geographical even the collective's emotional statues .
Being aware of the world around you and keeping honest and ambitious mindset to change .
The list is very long but Hassan Fathy , Gaetano Pesce , Sori Yanagi , Peter Opsvik , Emilio Ambasz , Alex McDwell .
I really like The Up Armchair by Geatano Pecse
I like the Modular designs because it has a spark from the designer that ignites another spark in the user.
Again it's the curiosity and honesty fro me .
I think I will have even more time to paint !
That is my mission.
It's a tool that we "design" to make our life easier and I use it in that way .
It's a great ways that help us as a designers to tell story about the design .
I think each one has different and unique perception I can't think of a something honestly .
The research behind it .
I believe in co-design
The People from my culture .
First time I start thinking about design as a kid when I know that we're making a graduation party for my sister and I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about the theme of the party

I started my journy as a kid who like drawing and painting and after that I started painting murals . My love for design actually comes from cinema when I knew that the man behind that worlds is the production designer I started learning and working in Film's Art Department designing props and set . Now I am a production designer

The design field is shifting toward more thoughtful and responsible practices. Rather than chasing trends or fueling endless consumption, designers now have an opportunity and a responsibility to focus on what truly matters: creating meaningful solutions that improve lives, respect the planet, and stand the test of time. The future of design isn’t about making more things; it’s about making things matter more.
My design focuses in my culture and for the people . I aim to design things that base on behavior and daily-life studies and needs .

I live in Saudi Arabia . It has a vast cultural heritage that affects my designs. While the world be came one great village I try to maintian the culture need by designing product that serves the daily life of the people
it's based on observation and research ,on failure and experiments
I beleive that good design should be timeless but in the same time it should carries a narrative about where and when it come from , it should tell us about the social , economical , geographical even the collective's emotional statues .
Grand Interview
22 October 2025 · Marka Multifunctional Chair
For Marka part of the first step of the design was to make " what the culture needs " and from there it start to evolve around the question of " How the culture used to be?" from there the process start to be more of linking needs and applying creative ways of approaching the form and function of the design . It was an organic yet magical state of mind doing the design .
I always had interest in modular design , even the DIY ones and I mean the pre-historic human objects and how it evolves from using animals bones to spray paint on cave's wall , to the evolving of chair and ways of setting .The intention of the design was to try to keep it evolved around the modularity which is the same intentions for Bedouins at the begining , and the process after that was trying to make it happen by trying that on 3D softwares and prototypes .
As Riyadh expands and grows busier, people seek to escape the city’s noise by camping under the moonlight in the desert. Marka offers a solution by serving as both indoor and outdoor furniture, allowing it to accompany people into the desert and be part of their moments of retreat.
As a designer, I believe our responsibility extends beyond aesthetics and function; it includes finding solutions that positively impact people and the environment. For me, design is not just a career but a commitment to addressing challenges around us, including environmental concerns. This mindset shapes my approach to every project, ensuring that I contribute to a more thoughtful, sustainable future through design.
Coming from a region now engaging with the world across many sectors, I believe sharing our culture is essential. But it’s the middle ground that matters when exporting culture: you need to share both the raw authentic layers and the redefined objects inspired by the culture. This is exactly what I aim to achieve with my design work bridging our heritage with contemporary expressions to connect meaningfully with others.
It’s a playful yet defining piece within the design. The triangular pillow creates a sense of juxtaposition, inviting the user to question its purpose and encouraging them to place it in different positions based on their comfort and convenience.
I hope that it help designer from my region and other region to start visiting the roots of the object they have or used to have so we can provide more unique and creative to the people .

The adjustable joinery reflects the core intention of the design. It holds the pieces together when used as an armrest while also providing padding for the body. When transformed into a chair, it plays a crucial role by supporting weight, reducing the reliance on solid parts alone.
I think that comes from my work as a film production designer where I work with a lot of the object and furniture from my culture whether that comes from research different periods or designing and putting them on set to serve the story .
