Unique Properties: With more than a century of history, sung in the Minnan dialect, Taiwanese opera is the most representative folk opera of Taiwan. From roadside stage, outer stage, inner stage, radio broadcast, TV, movies to the cultural performance now, it has undergone changes and innovations, demonstrating different features. The makeup of the female role in Taiwanese Opera is similar to that of Peking opera. The makeup of the male role is more simplified, Unlike the various painted face of Peking opera, it is only composed of a few symbolic strokes.
