Design Details

Unique Properties
This digital artwork blends the beauty of Japan, flowers, and circular forms with the mechanical elegance of steampunk. While the base image is AI-generated, the final piece is carefully refined by hand using Photoshop. The artist reflects her experience living in Japanese culture, combining tradition and emotion in a way that only a human can. This creates a unique form of female portraiture rooted in cultural identity and personal expression.
Inspiration
Inspired by a friend who wanted to share Japanese culture with the world, the artist aimed to create a new expression of traditional beauty. The work is based on flowers, gentle femininity, and the harmony of circles. By hiding the figure's eyes with goggles, the artist lets people see the image in their own way. This piece shows the artist's love for Japan and her wish to share its quiet beauty through her own hands and eyes.
Research
The research focused on visual storytelling without words. The artist studied Japanese traditional patterns and steampunk elements to blend history and imagination. Digital tools like Photoshop were used to explore composition, color harmony, and viewer psychology. The result is a modern artwork with deep cultural roots.
Challenge
To show Japanese beauty to the world, I made a digital artwork using gold leaf and ukiyo-e style. The hardest part was combining many traditional elements into one picture. I spent a lot of time to keep good balance and harmony. It was not easy, but I carefully composed it to represent Japan with sincerity.
Realization and Technology
I created separate images for the character and background using AI tools. Then, I combined them manually in Photoshop, refining each part by adjusting shapes, colors, and lighting. I added details such as accessories, patterns, and highlights by hand to bring harmony to the final image. While AI was used as a base, the completed artwork was shaped with human vision, emotion, and careful digital craftsmanship.
Operation and Interaction
The artwork invites quiet reflection, like viewing a Japanese hanging scroll in silence. By hiding the figure’s eyes, it encourages each viewer to imagine freely. The flowers and soft tones create a sense of harmony, leading the eye naturally to the center of the piece.
Project Duration and Location
The artwork started in February 2025 in Japan and was completed at the end of March 2025.
