Research
The design research of the Corcovado Sofa was qualitative, aiming to create a piece of furniture that combined sculptural form with comfort. Interviews, 3D prototypes and ergonomic tests were used. Participants included users and design experts. The results showed the need for adjustments in the structure. The insights revealed the value of organic aesthetics in functionality. The research impacted design, promoting innovation and meeting market and social demands.
Challenge
The most difficult part of the design of the Corcovado Sofa was to balance aesthetic innovation with ergonomics. The creative challenge was to create a sculptural piece inspired by nature without sacrificing comfort. Obstacles included material and technology limitations for shaping complex shapes, as well as adjusting the design to meet ergonomic standards. External factors, such as production technologies and material availability, also influenced the final choices.

The sofa is a testament to his commitment not only to aesthetics and comfort, but also to the idea that a design object should inspire, should speak to the space and to those who inhabit it.
