More About Fenced Traveler Pet Outing Bag
Fenced Traveler is a pet outing bag designed for small pets such as rodents. The bag carries a small pet outdoors and then opens into an enclosed play area. After the bag is placed on the ground, a built-in structure forms a closed outdoor space, and the pet can be released inside it. The design reduces the need for a traction rope, which can injure small pets and limit their movement. Fenced Traveler is made of plastic and cloth, shaped with a knapsack cloth forming technique. The aim is to protect small pets outdoors and to give owners more freedom during shared outdoor activities.

- Unique Properties
- Fenced Traveler is a design concept redefining the pet outing bag, increasing the interaction, and changing the experience of people and small pets in outdoor entertainment. With Fenced Traveler you can enjoy the scenery of nature with your lovely pet, especially small pets, like rodents. While feeling the natural environment, Fenced Traveler can liberate pet owners, protect the safety of pets, and allow each other to play more freely.
- Inspiration
- Based on the pet outing and playing, Fenced Traveling Backpack is a design concept redefining the pet outing bag, increasing the interaction, and changing the experience of people and small pets in outdoor entertainment.
- Research
- After detailed investigation, the problems faced by small pets outdoors have many problems, such as tightening the traction rope, causing injuries to pets, making it difficult to manage pets, pets are easy to be attacked and injured by other animals, and pet owners' outdoor activities are easy to be restricted. The study found that the existing products are not easy to clean the excreta of pet bags, and the fence is inconvenient to carry. That's the beginning of Fenced Traveler.
- Challenge
- The challenge of our design is that we cannot find a reasonable way in it’s appearance which is satisfying in function at the beginning. After a certain number of sketching, discussing and experimentation of our project, we finally find the proper selection which achieves the desired effect.
- Realization and Technology
- Our design is shaped by Knapsack production cloth forming technique. The main material is using Plastic and cloth.
- Operation and Interaction
- When you need to take your pets outdoors for entertainment, just put your lovely pet into Fenced Traveler. After you reach the lawn, put down the bag and form a closed outdoor space through the built-in structure, and then release the pets for entertainment interaction. Step4: Release your pet and enjoy your entertainment interaction
- Project Duration and Location
- The project started in March 2021 in in LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and finished in February 2022 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA.
