More About Existence Chair

Existence is a chair designed for thinking. The chair is treated as a piece of architecture that defines an edge and leaves space for the mind to fill. Two prototypes have been made of stainless steel. Sitting on Existence requires attention and muscle effort, so the chair limits physical comfort in order to set the mind free. Each chair measures 1000 mm in width, 800 mm in depth and 600 mm in height. The prototypes were shaped by hand, and different techniques were adjusted to reach exact accuracy.

About Liujincheng Zhang

Jincheng Zhangliu is the Co-founder of Rán. He is an architectural experience and furniture designer, mainly focusing on designing architectural experience. He has been involved in multiple projects in the USA and China including branding, retail, and hospitality.
