Design Details

Unique Properties
Wenzhou Vanke Center is located in the central core area of Lucheng District, where the Wenzhou city's top resources and supporting infrastructures are.The basic concept of the design is to create a Shan-shui City, trying to bring traditional Chinese aesthetic elements such as bamboos, hills, streams, mounts, and paths back to the modern building.
Inspiration
Chinese traditional paitings are the most important inspiration for the design. With a lighting waterfall, stone-shaped steps and aluminum bamboos, the building calls back the old times using modern materials.
Challenge
The user's comfort is an important consideration in the design. How to add naturally ventilated window sashes to the facade of glass curtain wall was one of the problems to be solved in this project. The designer finally hided the window in the aluminum line, which not only emphasized the rhythm of the facade, but also provided the possibility for the internal wall setting.
Realization and Technology
ceramic plate, metallic aluminium sheet, printed glass
Operation and Interaction
In order to secure the building functions better, waterfront square and big steps are set on the west side to connect the commerce with the surrounding parks, attract people and increase the vitality of the business; On the east side, trees are used to isolate the noise on the outside and provide a quiet place for work. A runway is set on the top floor of the tower to provide a place for workers to exercise and rest.
Project Duration and Location
The project started in November 2018 in Wenzhou and finished in September 2020 in Wenzhou,China.
Keywords
