Design Details
- Unique Properties
- Project is located in New Taipei City and enjoys the convenience and functionality of the newly-developed zone. The female homeowner is fond of simplicity and pure white. Therefore, its designing team makes the best of the pure-white tone paired with modernist elements. Through the collage of different materials such as marble and black glass, a stark contrast of black and white is made, adding gradations to the space.

- Research
- The cupboard in the dining section has an openwork design that greatly enhances its aesthetic quality, holding all the coffee maker, small appliances and wine inside. The brass mirror behind the cupboard underlies a delicate touch. The cooking space is concealed behind glass that effectively blocks any leak of kitchen exhaust, with lines on the glass quietly defining this special section.
- Challenge
- The suspended storage cabinets concealed behind the dressing mirror at the foyer continue into the living room, with illumination enhancing the openness of the space. Combined with visual effects of black glass, the open shelves for displaying art collection are pleasing to the eye. The large French window in the living room lets in ample natural light, with its aluminum frame giving a delicate finishing touch. The pure-white TV wall complements the white keynote tone perfectly, while the mellow teak ceiling in the living-dining room implicitly defines different sections and echoes the wooden floor, adding mellowness to the space of neatness.

- Operation and Interaction
- The small bedroom in the original layout is torn down and converted into a semi-open reading section, with short walls of smart nano boards that mark different functions and yet retain openness of the space. A couch on which to enjoy sunshine doubles as storage, while also serving purposes of reading, work and nap. Suspended over the couch is an open wooden shelf which, complemented by the chic tone of the wall, looks warm and lively.
