About The Seeds Of Faith Admission Letter For BFU 2018
The Seeds of Faith is a university admission letter set created for Beijing Forestry University. The set includes an admission letter, a notebook and an enrollment guide. Four versions of the letter show stages of plant growth: breeding, germinating, growing and flourishing. The letter is dark green and carries silver and golden dots that represent seeds. The main material is grey cardboard made from recycled waste paper. Surface patterns are applied by hot gold and silver stamping, which reduces the use of printing ink. The design reflects the culture of the university.
About Xianming Hu
Hu Xianming graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now he is a teacher in the College of Art and Design of Beijing Forestry University and the deputy head of the Department of Visual Communication Design. He is a member of the French Creative Design Professional Committee, a visual design consultant of the Information Research Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and a mentor of the Kunming Cultural and Creative Industry (design field).

- Unique Properties
- The whole set includes an admission letter, a notebook and an enrollment guidance. Four types of the letters illustrate stages of the growth process – Breeding, Germinating, Growing and Flourishing. The letter is colored dark green, with silver and golden dots or seeds. The concept of this design is the power of seeds - the research objects for Beijing Forestry University.College students in BFU are seeds, that, with the cultivation, can release power to make important contributions.
- Inspiration
- Almost all college admission letters are the same. I want to design an innovative, differentiated and recognizable notice that reflects the school motto of " enjoying the scenery with hills and waters, cultivating people like planting trees" as well as the philosophy and spirit of the school, so that the audience can feel the unique culture of the school when receiving the information. The message is designed to give the audience a better sense of the school's unique culture.
- Research
- Research Background: Because the admission letters in the other universities are all the same, many of them are like red certificates of merit or good news, which do not highlight the characteristics of the school and are easy to confuse people. In such an era of personalization, it is difficult to resonate with a admission letter without differentiation or characteristics, and it is more of a passive acceptance.
- Challenge
- 1-The admission letter should reflect the school motto of " enjoying the scenery with hills and waters, cultivating people like planting trees". 2-It combines the characteristics of Beijing Forestry University , differing from those of other universities. 3-The work should be finished on time and with budget, and its cost should be reduced as far as possible on the premise of these gorgeous acceptance letters.
