About Mountain House in Mist Book Villa

Mountain House in Mist is a countryside book house located in an ancient village in Wuyi. The building joins traditional culture with modern design through a new application of traditional materials, a transformed roof and translucent polycarbonate boards on the facades. During the day, the boards create a soft translucent atmosphere inside. At night, light passes outward and the book house becomes a visual center of the village. The book house offers a calm place to read and aims to bring young people and children back to the mountains.

About Lin Chen

Shulin studio is an architectural design studio, which takes the integrated design of architecture, landscape, interior and soft decoration as the main direction. Shulin takes rural research, Chinese garden, traditional culture and artistic aesthetics as its ideological source to do independent practical projects and architecture-related research.
