Steel is used for the rest of the body and its hyperboloid roof (positive and negative arch-beam steel structure) is covered with semi-transparent tensile fabric for weatherproofing and spread sunlight evenly into the showroom. - Projektdauer
- Start time: September, 2019
Completion time: September 2019 (furniture showroom), June 2020 (furniture recycle)
Location: Shanghai New International Expo Center, Pudong District, Shanghai - Betriebsablauf
- Pavilion S is not just a furniture showroom, it is a place where one can relax and rest during the exhibition. The facade of the building composed of stacksof modular plywood units that doubles as display coves, blurs the elements of doors, windows and walls, instead it blends the functions together. The transparent facade of the pavilion captures plenty of sunlight, while the 1.22-meter-deep window prevents the sun from shining directly into the showroom.
