Om The Dawn Bolig

Book Text: The Dawn er en bolig i Hualien City, Taiwan, planlagt som et hjem for pensionister. Huset dækker 150 kvadratmeter og blev færdiggjort i juni 2022. Facaden er enkel, og hovedfacaden er markeret af to buede linjer. Bygningens buede klimaskærm strækker sig fra bund til top, så interiøret er forbundet med omgivelserne, men samtidig beskyttet mod sommervarmen. En elevator betjener alle etager for adgang uden barrierer. Skydedøre og drejbare panelvægge muliggør fleksibel anvendelse. Badeværelset på øverste etage vender ud mod et vindue med udsigt over Hualien.

Unikke Egenskaber: As far as the exterior is concerned, the building’s appearance is simplified, demonstrating a sculpture like artwork towering over the base. The face of the main building is outlined through two curved lines. Besides, the solid construction is covered little by little and unfolded by the softly curved surface, just like a calla blooming quietly from the street block. Over the top furnishings have been abandoned to create abundant storage space.

Produktionsteknologi: From bottom to top, the building skin is slowly stretched, which makes the indoor area and the outdoor surroundings connected yet separated. Therefore, it has effectively eliminated the heat energy brought by the sun during summertime.
Designudfordring: The project adopts a minimalist design style from the exterior of the building to the interior of the space, focusing on the daily functional needs as the main focus of the planning. As a result, the designer significantly reduces the unnecessary purchase of furniture and eliminates superfluous decorations. The designer's initiative has greatly avoided the waste of resources and created a sustainable and friendly house.
Forskning: On top of that, the bathroom is planned at the external window on the top floor, so the beautiful scenery of Hualien is brought into the room, offering the clients a soothing and comfortable bath experience. In addition, due to the reduction of the living area caused by this equipment, the designer has skillfully selected adjustable features such as sliding doors and revolving door panels to endow the space with variable usability.
Inspiration: This project is a residential space in the old district of Hualien City, Taiwan, which is the owner's and his wife's retirement home. Given the cramped and narrow space of the original residence, it is expected that the needs such as abundant light and spaciousness can be incorporated into the new home to create a comfortable and enjoyable living space. The designer has completed the entire planning with a simple yet resourceful strategy.
Projektvarighed: The project was completed in Hualien City in June 2022.
Driftsflow: When the night comes, the warm yellow light from the room reflects like a flute-shaped glass containing champagne, diffuses an elegant luster in the dimly lit neighborhood, and welcomes visiting relatives and friends to gather for a drink. Considering the owner's needs for barrier-free facilities, an elevator that can access each floor is installed inside the house.
