O designu Cancer Assassin Ilustrace

Umělec se snažil vytvořit portrét dramatického okamžiku, kdy smrtící sevření T buňky přirozeného zabijáka překoná obranu rakovinných buněk a pamatuje si okamžik, kdy si lidstvo přeje. Cytotoxické přirozené zabíječské T buňky jsou rakovinné vrahy, které indukují rakovinné buňky, aby podstoupily programovanou buněčnou smrt známou jako apoptóza. Přirozené zabíječské T buňky rozpoznávají specifická místa na povrchu rakovinných buněk nazývaných antigeny, vážou se na ně a uvolňují biochemické proteiny, které tvoří póry v membráně rakovinných buněk a konkrétně indukují destrukci rakovinných buněk.

Jedinečné vlastnosti: People fighting cancer often want to know how to visualize fighting back. This is one visualization capturing the moment of cancer cell death, and the victory of the body's natural immune defenses, Natural Killer T cells. An entire branch of medical research focuses on amplifying and strengthening Natural Killer T cells' effectiveness.

Výrobní technologie: Created using Cinema 4D, a 3D modeling program, and Photoshop, on a Mac.
Designová výzva: The artist sought to create a portrait of the simple but dramatic moment the death grip of the Killer T cell overcomes the cancer cell's defenses.
Výzkum: The artist researched the morphology of Killer T cells, cancer cells, and Killer T cells and cancer cells in a death struggle, by studying electron micrographs and written research. She then created 3D models of a Killer T cell, cancer cell, fracture explosion, and cell debris using Cinema 4D, on a Mac. The rest of the digital painting was completed by hand work of drawing and painting in Photoshop using a stylus and tablet, on a Mac.
Inspirace: The artist is a certified medical illustrator working in the advertising and marketing of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Self promotional work created for clients, and prospective clients, is a chance to promote the artist's creativity, artistry and storytelling skills in visual science.
Doba trvání projektu: The project was in development for two weeks at the artist's studio in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, USA.
Provozní postup: This work depicts a frozen moment in time, memorializing a moment humanity desires.
