Дызайнерскі выклік: After choosing the theme for the project, as well as the silhouette and color combinations of the subject, it was necessary to come up with a concise and thoughtful technical implementation. For this, LED technologies were chosen. Thanks to this, a laconic silhouette was preserved. Fasteners for glass of a simple shape was also made, so as not to distract the viewer from the main image. An element also appeared that connects the wires, which makes the overall image of the lamp more reminiscent of jewelry than a regular lamp.
Даследаванне: The main task was to study the origins of ancient Mesoamerican cultures. We wanted to study their jewelry art and find a match in the silhouettes of these products, learn about the religious and cultural heritage of this tradition, and also learn about the attitude of these ancient peoples to jewelry and precious materials. We wanted to create an object that, in its silhouette, color scheme and choice of materials, conveyed the spirit of these distinctive cultures.
Натхненне: The collection is dedicated to the ancient cultures of Mesoamerica. They were famous for their jewelry art, often made of gold. This metal was not a jewel or currency for them, unlike it was for the Europeans of the time. In some Mesoamerican cultures, ornaments had ritual and religious significance. In addition, they often had a similar silhouette in the form of an inverted crescent moon. That's why this form formed the basis of Maya's collection; and the faceted glass symbolizes the precious stones that adorned the jewelry.
