سلاسل الثلج متعددة الوظائف هي من ملحقات المركبات المصمَّمة للقيادة الشتوية والإنقاذ في الأماكن المفتوحة. تُثبَّت كل سلسلة ثلج على الإطار بواسطة حزام من القماش المتين لتحسين التماسك على الطرق الحضرية المتجمدة. وتدور المقابض الموجودة على الجانبين لتلائم مقاسات العجلات المختلفة، بحيث تناسب السلاسل معظم الإطارات المتوفرة في السوق. كما يمكن تجميع عدة وحدات من السلاسل معًا لتكوين لوح إنقاذ يُستخدم في ظروف الصحراء والطمي والمستنقعات، حيث قد تفقد العجلة قدرتها على التماسك. ويحل هذا التركيب المعياري محل ألواح الإنقاذ الضخمة ويوفّر مساحة التخزين داخل السيارة.
