Oor RMIT Bldg 88 Gestoffeerde Skrynwerk

Die gebou-ontwerpkonsep was om 'n unieke, maar gestandaardiseerde werksomgewing te bied. Deur die hoeveelheid ingeboude skrynwerk te beperk tot gespesialiseerde Banquette-sitplekke en onderdele, gemeenskaplike bankies en los meubels, is die ruimte nie net ontwerp vir die huidige inwoners nie, maar neem dit ook die implikasies van toekomstige uitbreiding in ag.

RMIT Bldg 88 Gestoffeerde Skrynwerk is 'n wenner van die A' Design Award in Yster, 'n prestigieuse erkenning wat toegeken word aan goeie ontwerpe wat voldoen aan die professionele en industriële vereistes wat van goed ontwerpte skeppings verwag word. Wenners in Yster toon groot vaardigheid, hoë spesialisasie, kundige begrip en die kreatiewe vermoë van hul skeppers. Daar word verwag dat RMIT Bldg 88 Gestoffeerde Skrynwerk 'n hoog aangeskrewe, bewonderde en gekoesterde skepping is wat prakties en innoverend is. Hierdie ontwerp wat die A' Design Award in Yster gewen het, integreer die beste praktyke in die bedryf en het bekwame tegniese kenmerke gekoppel aan kundigheid en talent. RMIT Bldg 88 Gestoffeerde Skrynwerk word gerespekteer vir sy deeglikheid en is ontwerp om verbeterings in lewensgehalte te bied wat help om die wêreld 'n beter plek te maak.

Unieke Eienskappe: Utilising a floorplan of 1650m2, the fitout consited of:

*Collaborative and flexible working spaces
*Meeting Rooms and Executive meeting spaces
*Feature curved and angular banquette seating
*Feature joinery to communal areas
*Large timber ceiling panels
Afmetings & Verpakking: The curved panel walls were individually manufactured on a CNC machine to achieve the desired shape. In order to breakup parts of the open spaces the curved walls tapered from 1.0mt up to 2.0mts in height.
Etikette: Banquette Seating, Joinery, Furniture, Tables, Acoustic Panels
Produksietegnologie: A combination of both curved and angular design for the seating helped to breakup the main areas as well as maximising the natural light from the fully glazed facades to the Buildings sides.
Ontwerpuitdaging: The greatest challenge was to correctly achieve the internal and external angled seating structure, ensuring it was fit for the purpose without compromising on strength, stability and the required shape.
Navorsing: In order to meet the design brief for the Banquette Seating and Joinery items CUS looked at the other components that made up the project such as the angled coloured floor tiles, timber ceiling struts and the overall finishes. In this way the built-in seating and joinery blends in with this items to become a part of the workspace without actually standing out.
Inspirasie: To incorporate the Client's requirements for both open and private office spaces, shared conference and meeting rooms with the flexability to expand at a later date.
Projekduur: The project was a fast tracked programme working two shifts over a 7 week periord.
Bedryfsvloei: The design concept draws on a continuous open area that wraps around the building core. By breaking up certain areas with the curved and elongated Banquettes the occupants could achieve both an open plan workspace with the added privacy if required.
