About HAESL Office Office

HAESL Office is an office interior design in Hong Kong, covering an entrance lobby and two floors of workplace with a total net area of about 789 square meters. A large central column between two glass doors is treated as a feature column inspired by an engine, paired with a fan shaped ceiling. Meeting rooms and manager offices use glass partitions with switchable film, giving instant privacy and clear glass for natural light. A showcase presents a retired engine fan and scrap components, linking the interior to aircraft engine repair work.

Unique Properties
The HAESL office, situated within the Industrial Estate building, has remained unchanged for nearly two decades. CTRC revitalised the entrance lobby and two floors of the workplace, transforming site limitations into a key design feature.
A large central column between two glass doors has been reimagined as a striking engine-inspired feature column with a fan-shaped ceiling design. Radiating energy throughout the space while enhancing its industrial aesthetic.
Dimensions & Packaging
The total net area is approx. 789 m², with a floor to structural beam height of 2900mm. After accommodating services above the false ceiling, we selected the smallest available featured engine fan with diameter 2400mm, which is a rare find and the last one exist. It was a real challenge, but we worked to maximize ceiling height reinforced with steel structure and enhance the overall sense of space.

Production Technology
All Meeting Rooms and Manager Offices feature glass partitions and doors with switchable film, offering instant privacy as needed. When inactive, the clear glass maximizes natural light, enhancing the interior ambience. Each meeting room is also fitted with light-integrated signage that automatically illuminates when in use.
Design Challenge
The second-floor showcase repurposes authentic and scrap engine components, designed to display in a knolling style. A key focus was the limited ceiling height and existing beam locations, meticulously studied to achieve a perfect fit. The nearly one-ton engine fan required precise steel structural reinforcement, calculated through close collaboration with structural engineers for optimal stability and integration.
Research
The design of authentic retired engine fan and scrap components involved extensive research into engine fan models, dimensions, and various components, ensuring a purposeful and cohesive display. This approach not only aligns with sustainability principles, also symbolises HAESL’s team ethos, like engine components, individual parts working in harmony to achieve excellence, seamlessly integrating engineering excellence with environmental responsibility.
Inspiration
Our client specializes in aircraft engine repair and overhaul, with the engine as their core business focus. The design concept draws inspiration from engine fan blades and sector forms, integrating them seamlessly into the workplace environment. Additionally, the existing logo is transformed into a three-dimensional artwork, maintaining its signature colour while incorporating layered elements and varied materials. Displayed in the lobby and waiting area, it reinforces corporate identity.
Project Duration
The project started in October 2024 and finished in February 2025, which was located in Hong Kong.
Operation Flow
The holistic design integrates metallic finishes with a refined colour palette and sustainable materials, creating contrast and a touch of industrial aesthetic. Upon entering the entrance lobby, an engine-inspired feature column and fan-shaped ceiling design establish a striking atmosphere. Office spaces span the first two floors, while a flexible waiting area with a wet pantry as multi-purpose area promotes comfort, well-being, and community connection.
