About Low Key Luxury Residential House

Low Key Luxury is a residential interior design for a 205 square meter home in Taipei City. The layout includes an entrance, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, three bedrooms, a study and two bathrooms. A beige marble television wall forms the main feature, with neat lines and irregular stone patterns arranged in three-dimensional layers. A suspended display case with a mirror backdrop marks the foyer and adds depth. Curved forms in the living room canopy and the dining chandelier soften the linear space. Stone, titanium-plated iron and leather are used.

Design Challenge
In the straight and linear space, the living room canopy uses a smooth curved shape instead of right angles to enrich the space's interior and smooth out the stiffness, while the chandelier in the dining room also echoes the rounded shape. A structural beam spans over the bedside wall in the second bedroom. Under the beam, curves lighten the oppressive feeling of volumes.
Research
The modern low-key luxurious texture flows into the dining space, while the grayish-white stone pattern and milk tea color build up a stable dining atmosphere. The pendant chandelier emits sparkling light. Under the diffusion of titanium-plated metal in bronze gold, golden sparkles twinkle and lend a luxurious texture. In the colors of low chroma, the dining chairs in saturated shade of bright orange ingeniously add a light-hearted charm. In the sleeping area, the low chroma colors dilute the intensity lightly. Neutral gray tones have a relaxing effect perfect for creating a serene feeling in the bedroom.
Inspiration
The male homeowner likes modern design. On the other hand, the female homeowner is fond of classical style. To make their dream home a reality, the sleekness of modern style is combined with the softness of classical style. The earthy colors mix styles effortlessly and create a space that appears cohesive and unified. Just like a high-quality custom-made artwork, the residence gives off a unique charm through the overlapping materials, gradient color palettes, and mix-and-match furniture pieces.
Project Duration
The project is finished in July 2022 in Taipei City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
Upon entering the room, a suspended showcase with a mirror as the backdrop serves as the foyer vista view. Mirror's reflective surface adds more depth to the space and offers the dining room a greater level of privacy.
In the square layout, the space has stunning windows on three sides to allow light to flow in the living room and bedroom. As the center point, the dining room not only promotes bonds with family members but also creates a smooth traffic flow.
