About Tomorrow Casa Living Hall

Tomorrow Casa is a living hall designed as a shared community space. Wide stairs shape the entrance and give an open and welcoming impression. Glass covers more than half of the ground floor, so the interior can be seen before it is entered. The second floor avoids window display methods, so visitors are invited to take part rather than only to look. Environmental friendliness guided the project from the first planning stage through to completion. The design seeks a calm dialogue between the building and the city around it.

Unique Properties
In the aspect of its shape, I use big stairs to take out a more welcomed impression of defense and acceptance. To meet the psychological expectation of "vision before motion", glass has been applied to more than half areas in the first ground. As for the second floor, I tried to avoid the window exhibition design method, since a community space like this living hall should encourage people to participate but to appreciate.
Inspiration
Those buildings located in the downtown are prone to be regarded as the landmarks, such tendency results more and more invasive and environmental unfriendly buildings appear. So from the very beginning of planning this project, I kept 'environmental friendliness' as the original intention and take this core concept throughout the entire design and implementation phase.
